Remember you’re punching to connect," I said to Avery, but I wasn’t exactly focused at our training. My eyes kept darting toward Shade and Thier in the corner of the field, crouched close, their voices low. Whispering. They looked like they were plotting something. Thier looked tense, brows furrowed, mouth in a thin line. But it was Shade that worried me.
