CHAPTER 10 The late morning sunlight filtering onto Breanne's face roused her. She felt wonderful, so relaxed and warm, despite being rather cramped. The grief over Joyce's death lingered, but it was a different kind pain now than the previous night's crushing grief; one she would carry for a long time, would cry over more, but she felt at peace about it. Pain, like death, is part of the human experience and doesn’t need to be avoided. Besides, I still have Nick to help me and love me. He had slept the whole night with her in her tiny dorm bed.
