One Last Chance

One Last Chance By: [Your Name] It all started on November 20, 2023. I was heartbroken that day, drowning in my emotions because of a crush who didn’t even like me back. My best friend, Janna, had had enough of my drama. "Girl, you need a distraction," she said, rolling her eyes. "Wait, I’ll add you to a group chat. There’s someone I think you’ll like." A few moments later, my phone buzzed. Janna added you to ‘GC Squad’ I wasn’t in the mood to talk, but I checked the chat anyway. That’s when I noticed a certain Euan. He had been chatting actively, joking around with everyone. "Ava, meet Euan. Euan, meet Ava," Janna introduced. "Yo," he greeted casually. "Hi," I replied half-heartedly. At first, I didn’t think much of him. But later that night, I received a private message. Euan: Hey. I hesitated but replied. Ava: Hey. That one word was all it took. From then on, we talked every day. Conversations that started with simple greetings turned into late-night talks, jokes, and deep conversations. He made me forget my heartbreak, and before I knew it, I was falling for him. A month passed, and on December 19, 2023, he finally confessed. "I know we haven’t known each other that long, but… would you be my girlfriend?" I was shocked. I didn’t expect him to ask so soon. But my heart was already his, so I said, "Yes." Our relationship was full of happiness at first. We talked all the time, shared little secrets, and even made future plans. But then, reality hit. One night, he sent a panicked message. "My parents found out." "What?! What did they say?" "They told me to stop talking to you." I felt my heart drop. Was this the end? But then, he reassured me. "We’ll find a way." And we did. We continued in secret, pretending nothing happened. It was risky, but we couldn’t let go of each other. Then, in February 2024, I made a terrible mistake. I started liking someone else. A classmate. At first, I ignored it. But the more I spent time with this new person, the more I felt something different. And before I knew it, I had fallen out of love with Euan. I broke up with him. For a month, I entertained my feelings for my classmate, thinking I had made the right choice. But soon, I realized it was all temporary. I missed Euan. I hesitated to message him again, afraid he had moved on. But when I did, he replied instantly. "You hurt me, Ava. But… I still love you." Just like that, he took me back. But something in him changed. He still loved me, but there was a wall between us now—a fear that I would leave again. By June 2024, another problem arose. I had grown closer to my best friend, and Euan started getting jealous. Arguments became frequent, and soon, my mom found out about us. She forced us to break up. But like before, we found a way back to each other. Then, in August 2024, my dad caught us. This time, our parents got involved. They decided enough was enough—we were officially forbidden from seeing each other until we turned legal age. But by November 2024, we had secretly gotten back together again. We celebrated our first anniversary, promising each other that this time, nothing would break us apart. Then, January 2025 came. And I made the same mistake again. I started feeling bored. Without thinking, I broke up with him. By February, I had a new crush. But once again, it didn’t last. The moment I realized my mistake, I tried to return to Euan. But this time, he didn’t welcome me back easily. "Why should I take you back?" he asked. "Because I love you." "Then why do you keep leaving?" His words hit me harder than I expected. But I begged for one last chance. After a long pause, he sighed and said, "I’ll give you one year. If you really change, maybe we’ll work out. But if not, I’m done." I agreed.
