It took less than an hour for the mafia to trace the jacket. Zekail’s men tracked down Chloe and Sarah at a campus cafe. Terrified by the armed men but deeply greedy, the girls did not hesitate. For a thick stack of cash, Chloe smiled and handed over Lana’s exact home address and her daily library routine.
Lana was walking down a quiet, shaded path near the university library, her mind completely focused on her study notes. Suddenly, the harsh screech of tires broke the silence. A sleek, black SUV pulled directly onto the curb, blocking her path.
Before she could even register the danger, the doors flew open. Two massive men in dark suits jumped out. Lana gasped, opening her mouth to scream for help, but a large, heavy gloved hand clamped tightly over her face, crushing her voice.
"Mphhh! Let me"
Lana kicked, thrashed, and fought with all her strength, but she was entirely defenseless against the giants. They lifted her off her feet, threw her brutally into the leather back seat of the SUV, and slammed the doors. The vehicle sped away into the traffic, leaving her precious university textbooks scattered and ruined all over the dirty pavement.
