I got in my car and just drove. Looking at maps stopped in small town's. I was in town's I never heard of I stopped in a beautiful place its vlat all the way there is a lake in the distant the sun is setting the sun is so beautiful with the lake. I booked in a small bed in breakfast. In the morning the sun is just to peek on the horizon. I got up to see the sunrise. I went to the dinning room and there are food for an army. Eggs bacon fried onions grilled tamato and loads more. The owners of the B&B is so nice. I finished my breakfast and got on the road again. Still got a long way to go. Finally I stopped in Roseville. Its a small town with one Cafe a small boutique, Post office, Sheriff station, Grocery Stores and a Doctor. Its 1000s of miles away from the big city. I got out of the car. I'm so tired. I walked to the Cafe on the corner. It's nice warm and cozy feels like home. I walked up to the counter. "Good day miss. First time
I see you here. Are you just passing thru?" A dark head waiter with brown eyes and a beautiful smile that makes you smile asking all these questions. I laughed. "Good day to you to Jack." I read of his name tag. "No actually I'm looking to buy a house here. Do you know of any thing available?" I asked Jack. Jack looked shocked like why. "I don't know of any thing but maybe my mother will." Mom." He yelled to the kitchen. A blond middle age women with green eyes came to the counter." Hello dear. How can I help you? JACK way doesn't she have coffee jet?" She looked at Jack and makes him hurry up. Before I could asked any thing the coffee is standing hot in front of me. The smell of the coffee is so delicious. I took a sip. It tasted so good." Hello Mam." She looked at me and stopped me." Please call me Pepper." She smiled. I smiled and nodded. "Pepper I was wondering if there is any places to buy a small cottage or something." she looks at we wide eye. "You are the first outsider in 20 years that wants to buy a property. Why here?" She asked. I wanted to tear up again but I didn't want anyone to feel sorry for me and it has nothing to do with them. I just want a small house and live alone to hide. "I need a break from the city. I love this town I was here once when I was little and ever since I wanted to live here." That was the first time I lied to anyone. "That's nice of you to feel home in our small town." Somehow it feels like she just knew that I just lied to her. Just then the Sheriff entered the Cafe. "Good morning Jeff. The usual?" The Sheriff nodded and smiled. "Hello miss. Whats your name." He asked. I felt like a criminal with all these questions and then I couldn't help myself the tears were dripping. "O honey it's okay there is nothing to be scared off." I looked up and Pepper is holding a napkin. I took it and wipe my eyes. " I'm sorry. My name is Alice. I just lost my parents they were shot." I looked down. I could hear them gasping. Pepper touched my hand. "We're so sorry to hear that." They looked at me there were pain in there eyes I could see that they feel sorry for me. "It's okay. I just need to get out and have a fresh start." I told them. The Sheriff then said. I know of a house that is empty no one lived there for year. And no one has claimed it ether. Lets go show you." I paid for my coffee and walked with the Sheriff. The house is in the middle of the street the windows is broken and there is graffiti markings all over the house and inside the house. It is a nice and cozy home for just one person one big room a nice bathroom with a shower, a small kitchen and a medium living room. Just what I need. "I'll help you fixed it up. By the weekend this house wil be as good as new." The Sheriff offered. I looked at him with a smile. "Thank you Sheriff." We went to the grocery store. They sell everything from food to paint. We bought paint glass for the windows patty paint brush and roller and some cleaning supplies. I painted the living room a light gray and the room lights purple. Later the day Pepper showed up. "Hey guy. I brought you some food. Hey Alice why don't you spend the next few days with me till your house is done?" Pepper offered. "Thanks Pepper foor the food. Thanks for your offer I appreciate it. But I'm not sure till what time I will be busy." All the smell of the paint makes me a little dizzy. "Let's come back tomorrow let the paint set. There is nothing we can do till the paint drys." The Sheriff said. I agreed with him and walked with Pepper. Pepper lives in the same steet on the corner. It's a small two storage house. It almost look like something in a fairly tale. She has a beautiful garden with one big tree. The house feels warm full of life and love. The next few days we spend on the house and finally we finished. The Sheriff called the electrician to check the cables light and stove so that he can give me the clear to live here. "Everything checks off and its clear to move in. On Monday I finally moved in. I baked some pie for the Sheriff and Pepper to thank them for there help and hospitality.
