Tasha had gone to the mall immediately she arrived the city. She made sure she got everything she needed before lodging in a hotel.
“A room for the week,” she said to the man behind the counter, who she assumed was the hotel’s receptionist.
“That’ll be a thousand dollars,” the slightly thin man behind the counter spoke up, adjusting his glasses to look up at Tasha.
Without uttering more words, she handed him her credit card to pay for the room, and he gave her the key and the room number after she’d filled out the visitor’s form.
“Wait, you look familiar.” He called out to her but she was already on her way to locate the room.
Tasha walked so fast and adjusted her shades. The last thing she wanted was someone noticing her and informing Derek about it. She was easily able to locate her room, inserting the key into the keyhole to open the door before stepping in with her luggage. As soon as she was in, she locked the door from the inside, her eyes quickly roving around the room to see it was clean and neatly arranged with white beddings covering the small bed and a tv hanging on the wall directly opposite the bed. Releasing a breath, she pushed away from the door and headed towards the other door in the room, hoping it was a bathroom and her hopes weren’t disappointed as she opened it to see and equally clean bathroom and toilet, separately.
This will have to do for the week, she told herself, heading for the bed. With a thud, she fell flat on it, bouncing a bit from how soft the mattress was.
Not quite long a call came in from the supposed company she had a contract with.
“Okay sir, I’m on my way now,”
Tasha took her coat and stepped out of the room again, heading to the location where she was supposed to meet with the manager, Mr Smith.
Throughout the car drive to the location, she’d barely been able to hold back her tears but she did, driving around a city’s she left years ago was bringing back memories from the past.
Now in the location sent to her, she checked her phone several times hoping she was in the right place because it looked like a party was going on there, far from business mood.
“Excuse me, what’s going on here?” She managed to ask the security guard at the gate of the building.
“Good evening ma’am, Mr Derek Reynolds is throwing a big party for a successful deal.”
Tasha’s heart thudded loudly at the sound of his name, a frown of displeasure took over her face, “Derek, I treated you like a treasure but you didn’t cherish it. I will never give you the chance to hurt me again.”
“Take me back to the hotel now!!”
“Ma’am, we just got here.”
“Yeah the meeting has been rescheduled , take me back to the hotel.”

Not far away from the entrance, Derek was sitting in his car. The car window was only half open. He had been in same position for some minutes, noticing every movement around the place.
“Babe, you need to tell me what’s going on.” Ciara walked up to him, drawing his attention.
“Ciara, you need to get back inside”
“No Derek, you’ve been cold towards me, you need to tell me what’s wrong with you.”‘Ciara insisted.
“Excuse me.”
Seeing the car drive in, he watched the occupant talk to the security guard, leaving the place immediately. He couldn’t see the face clearly but it was suspicious, something was off about that car.
Derek commanded in a deep voice, “Charles, follow that car in front.”’
“But Derek…
“Ciara, I will see you when I return.” Derek responded, shutting the car door on her.
Fixing his eyes on the car, he made sure he didn’t lose sight of the car.
“Tasha is in Deluxe Hotel, Room 205.”
That was the text he got immediately they left the building.
Derek smirked.
The road drive was a rough one and soon, Charles found out the car was gone, replaced by the chaotic traffic. He became surprised.
“Boss, I think I lost it.”
Derek also noticed and his face became even more unpleasant.
“Damn it, Okay, let’s go to the hotel.” He muttered.
In Deluxe Hotel.
“Mr Reynolds, the lady occupying the room isn’t around at the moment, I’m not sure I can let you in to her room.”
“We are business partners and she invited me over.” Derek’s eyes darkened in frustration.
“Okay, let me call her..”
The receptionist took out a telephone but Derek stopped him immediately.
“How much do you want?”
Walking so fast, he was able to locate the room, inserting the key into the keyhole to open the door before stepping in. As soon as he was in, he locked the door from the inside, his eyes quickly roving around the room to admire the serenity. Locating the closet, he took out one of her clothes and sniffed it.
“Damn, that familiar cologne.”
He longed for the scent for years, he missed every bit of her, he just wanted her back.
The moment he turned around, the door opened. His eyes landed on the familiar brown eyes that had his legs freezing on the spot, mouth parting in shock.
“Tasha?”
