Chapter Fourteen Sally really couldn’t remember the journey home or paying for the long ride home using the money she’d earned from Drake. Rather, she found herself standing in the middle of the living room where awareness brought her back into the moment. The smells of the house, combined with the messes of the children’s toys and paraphernalia scattered over the carpet were familiar, yet now, standing here in the quiet dark she couldn’t quite find the comfort that it usually summoned.
