What was I thinking when I asked Alex if I would see him tomorrow? Firstly, I should be avoiding him, after what Isaac did. Secondly, I was on the verge of pulling out all of my hair after spending the whole night wondering what ‘my g’ means. I mean, it couldn’t possibly mean what I was thinking…if it was that, then, why didn’t he just write ‘girl’ instead of g, right?
I mean, g could mean anything…like garbage, goat, gag…and I could go on and on…
Why would he call me garbage, goat or gag, though?
Um, because he hates me?
Then, what was the meaning of that heart in the end?
Um, maybe he was being just sarcastic to piss me off.
Who even says my garbage?
Ugh, I don’t know!
I let out a frustrated scream, then, stared at the message again like I had been continuously since night.
This guy’s words were more confusing than the mystery of his shampoo!
But, what’s more confusing was that I was getting so worked up just over one single message of his. Why the hell was it affecting me so much? Nothing of this sort had ever happened with me before.
I knew, for one, that if some other guy ever sent this kind of message to me, I would either brush it off or rearrange his face.
But, guys are lucky that their danger alert goes on automatically after coming face to face with my glare and they don’t even bother with me after that.
My thoughts were cut off when Julia called my name from downstairs. I checked the time and realized that it was time for breakfast already.
Good thing it was a Sunday and I won’t have to face anyone else after last night’s fiasco. As for Julia, well, I just hoped she wouldn’t ask many questions in front of her siblings, Madison and Lukas. With that thought, I made my way downstairs.
***
The tension in the air was heavier than the weights my brother lifted everyday in gym.
Madison had a permanent scowl on her face, Julia was avoiding my eyes and Lukas was not at home. I took my seat at the dining table and smiled at Madison.
“Well, good morning, sunshine,” I greeted, while flipping her the finger.
Julia cracked a small smile and finally turned in my direction, “I am glad you are okay.”
I frowned, “I was always okay.” unless we count the Isaac part and the Alex part…
“Well, how would I know, you never really talked to us these past few days,” Julia replied, with a sigh.
My mouth formed an ‘o’ in understanding. So, she was not going to touch on the Isaac topic either. Thank God!
“Um, do you have any plans today?” Julia asked suddenly.
“Not really,” I started cautiously, “but, why?”
She gave a chuckle, “Relax, I am not asking for your kidneys. I was wondering if you would like to hang out with us, again?”
I rubbed my neck, “Um…I don’t kn-”
I was cut off when Madison abruptly stood up from her chair, “Are we just going to ignore the fact that she is a bloody murderer? Why is she still here?”
My eyes widened, my mouth fell open and the spoon fell from my fingers.
“Madison!” Julia chided her, standing up, “Who told you that?”
Madison scoffed, “I am the queen. I know everything.”
Julia closed her eyes, “Who told you that?” she asked slowly, enunciating each word.
Madison sighed exaggeratedly, “My new boyfriend, Isaac.”
Julia and I yelled ‘No!’ at the same time.
Out of everything, this was not what I was expecting. Not at all!
“Madison, listen to me, I know you hate my guts but trust me when I say this, Isaac is trouble. He is just using you to get to me somehow,” I blabbered without missing a beat.
Madison rolled her eyes, “Everything isn’t about you, princess. And, sorry not sorry, I am not stupid. I don’t trust criminals.”
And, with that she turned around and left, ignoring Julia’s call to come back.
“This is not good. So not good!” I muttered grimly, clutching my head.
Julia blew out a breath and placed a hand on my shoulder, “Don’t worry, sis. I will handle Madison. I will kill that Isaac myself if I have to-”
Julia’s oh-so-consoling words were interrupted when Madison sashayed back in to announce, “Oh, and just FYI, Isaac is coming here today. In fact, he will be a frequent visitor now, I advice you find a new place for yourself,” she finished, meeting my eyes.
“Madison! What has gotten into you?” Julia shrieked, “I refuse to let that psycho inside this house! And, Kris is not going anywhere!”
Madison shrugged, “That’s your call. But, do keep in mind that we have an equal share in this house. So, you can’t stop me from inviting my boyfriend here.”
And, with that she turned around and left. Now, I knew how she and Isaac hit it off. They were both spawns of the devil.
I turned to face Julia, who looked a bit shocked over Madison’s words. I didn’t blame her. I would have smacked my brother good, if he dared speak to me like that, elder or not. But, Julia was mature for her age. It was difficult enough, living without parents.
I shuffled awkwardly, “Um, Julia, I will-”
“No. you are not going anywhere!” she cut me off, “Just forget about what she said and let’s get out of here for now. Everyone is waiting for us.”
What?
Before I could ask her, what she meant, she dragged me along, not even giving me a chance to resist.

“Why are we here?” I asked, horrifically, taking in the front of Alex’s house.
Julia waved an arm casually, “Oh, we are just gathering here before going to the real place.”
As if on a cue, Ashton, Millie, Blake, Hailey, Cameron and Dylan arrived after us. Oh, and Stella too.
What was strange was the fact, that, half of the time they were avoiding my eyes and the other half of the time, they were behaving normally, as if everything was alright in the world…as if they were not itching to ask me about what Isaac said.
I fidgeted nervously in my position. I hated this. I hated that I had to hide things from them and now everything was all awkward between us, because of Isaac.
“Um, why are we standing here? Let’s go inside and call Alex,” Dylan suggested.
Blake shuddered dramatically at this, “No, dude. You don’t want to go in there. There are things inside which can scar you for life.”
Everyone apart from Dylan, Stella and I, nodded their heads. They had a faraway look in their eyes, as if remembering something.
What the hell?
Now, I was seriously worried for Alex and to be honest, slightly curious too. What was in there?
Before I could kick the door open and storm in, the door opened on its own and an old lady sidled out.
Everyone’s eyes widened upon seeing her, and I let out a gasp at what was happening in front of me.
The old lady was full on making out with a man…who was not so old, in broad daylight, in front of all of us, shamelessly.
Cameron, who was holding Stella, covered her eyes, turning his own face away.
Blake winced, “That’s Alex’s eight year old grandma for you. She gets more action than any of us teenagers could ever dream about.”
Oh my God! That was Alex’s grandma? I couldn’t frickin’ believe my eyes!
Damn! She sure was bold and confident and…youthful, for an eighty year old.
She pulled away to momentarily glance at us, and her eyes sparkled when they landed on Blake. She wasted no time in reaching Blake and started to pinch his cheeks.
“Blake, my boy, you are chubbier than I remember!” she cooed at him, while Blake had a dreadful expression on his face.
He somehow, managed to get out of granny’s clutches and hid behind Hailey, using her as a shield. Hailey let out a terrified squeal.
Granny’s eyes only sparkled more, at seeing this. She smirked at Hailey.
Smirked! Which grandma ever smirks?
“Are you two together now, my dearies?” granny asked Blake and Hailey.
Everyone snickered at that. Even, I couldn’t resist chuckling.
“What? No! He wishes!” Hailey rushed her words, trying to get out of Blake’s hold.
Granny tsked, shaking her head, “Blakey, I thought I taught you well. But, I see you still can’t play your cards right. Don’t worry Haizy, there are plenty of fish in the sea. I will find you one.”
Blake immediately wrapped his hands around Hailey’s waist from behind, “I am the only fish for her, grans!”
What the frick just happened? Did blake just- did he just…
I took in hailey’s statue still form. She looked like she was about to faint anytime soon.
“Can I just say, that, now we need the ship of the ultimate shipper to sail?” Millie broke the silence.
Granny waved her hands at that, “Of course, as long as I am alive, Mills, all the ships in this world are going to sail,” she declared with a wink.
“And, can I just say that you are the coolest grandma ever?” came out of my mouth, before I could stop myself.
Granny turned to me, scrutinizing me. I was legitimately afraid for a second.
Then, she cracked a smile, “Tell me something I don’t know, dearie. Though, I would like to believe I am savage.”
Before I could open my mouth, to spew some more words of admiration, Alex stormed of the house, his eyes scanning everyone in worry.
Then, his eyes landed on me at last and then, on his grandma. He let out a loud groan.
“Ma! I told you to stay inside the house,” he chided, marching up to granny.
Granny scoffed, “Just because you don’t have a life, doesn’t mean, I will not live mine. And, where are your manners? Say hi to my boyfriend, Danny,”
Alex shook his head, went up to Danny, the guy with whom granny was making out earlier and whispered something to him, with a very scary expression. Danny scurried out of our views the next moment.
Granny glared at Alex, “you didn’t just scare away my new boyfriend, Alexander!”
I couldn’t help the bubbling laughter that escaped me when I heard granny calling him Alexander. Why was it so hilarious?
I straightened up when I realized that all eyes were on me and I was the only one laughing like an i***t. Everyone was giving me ‘you shouldn’t have done that’ look, while Alex was staring at me grimly.
What worried me the most was the look granny was giving me. Her eyes were twinkling as if she had just found a treasure.
Then, she looked between Alex and me and smirked evilly.
Oh no!
