Chapter 2

Raven's Pov. “He is bad news Raven.” I don't care if he was engaged or not, he was standing right before me and I was not going to let this opportunity go. With a determined stride I walked towards his direction, his eyes still on me, I could hear Angela whispering my name to stop me but I had made up my mind. “Excuse me,” I said as soon as I got to his side. He assessed my whole body before slightly tilting his head to the side. He had a cute blondie beside him, his arm wrapped around her waist. I could feel the glare of the blondie but that was not my issue right now. “How can I help you?” He asked. “I want to talk to you.” “About what?” He asked, looking irritated. With the way he was looking at me, one would think he was not on top of me a few weeks ago whispering loving words to my ears while he did astonishing things to my body. “It's important” I snapped, becoming impatient. He stared at me for a while before kissing the blonde beside him on the lips. My heart felt like it wanted to rip into two from the sight of him kissing another woman but I knew I had no right to be jealous. “I will be right back baby girl,” he said to blondie who smiled at him. From what I can see he was a womanizer, this girl was not his fiancée. “So what is it?” He asked as soon as we walked into the office. It was huge and smelled nice. “Start talking, I don't have all day,” he snapped at me as I was not saying anything. He poured himself a glass of alcohol which I assume must be whiskey before sitting behind the desk. “I am sorry for interrupting your date.” “Just get to the point,” he snapped, staring at me. I fidgeted on my feet as I could feel his gaze on me. I felt intimidated by his aura. “Okay, uhmmm.... I am ....” “f**k this,” he yelled getting up from the chair and walking towards the door. “I am pregnant,” I yelled desperately. “What?” He asked as he turned around to look at me. He stared at me with a blank expression. Taking a deep breath I said it again. “I am pregnant.” I was more confident saying it for the second time. “And?” He asked, with a nonchalant expression on his face like I just told him the weather. “And?” I responded confused by his reply. “What does that have to do with me?” He asked. “The baby is yours,” I explained. He looked at me for a while before laughing, laughing so hard he coughed his stomach to stay upright. I could only watch the scene before me in confusion. “Gosh I never pegged you for that type of girl, but like they say women are unpredictable,” he said walking towards his desk and then opening a drawer and bringing out a checkbook. “How much do you want?” He asked. “What?” “I don't have all day, how much do you want to stay out of my life?” He yelled at me. I was dumbfounded by his question. “I just told you I am pregnant with your child and this is what you tell me. Are you crazy?” “Name your prize or forget about it, you cannot tie me down with your stupid allegations. Go and meet the father of your child and let him take responsibility. I am only just trying to do some charity work with you.” His words felt like daggers to my heart. Angela was right. He was bad news but I was not backing down. “This is your child and I am willing to do anything to prove it.” He stared at me, as I tried to regulate my heavy breathing. He walked around his table once again slowly making his way towards me, his eyes solely on mine. I backed up until my back hit the wall but he was still walking towards me. My heart started pounding loudly in my chest. I could practically hear it in my ears. With barely more than a few inches between us, his body pressed against mine and with his lips only inches from mine he finally talked. “And if it is not mine, what should I do to you,” he whispered. Although he talked to me in a calm voice I could feel the threat behind it which made me shiver in fear. “I am confident it is yours,” I replied. “Okay then.” He walked over to his table and grabbed his phone. “Eva, get Dr Grey, tell him I want to do a DNA test for a lady who is still pregnant and that I am on my way,” he spoke to someone on the phone before hanging up. “Let's go,” he said, grabbing my wrist and dragging me out of the bar. A valet opened his car giving him his keys while he practically pushed me inside. He drove off without giving me a chance to buckle my seatbelt. I don't think the speed he was driving was legal. We stopped at a big hospital building and he packed at the entrance throwing his key to a security guard at the entrance before dragging me into the building. “Lucas, I got your message,” a dark man in a white coat greeted us as we walked into his office.
