Chapter : 3

Amelia's POV:

Looking at the watch i watched time fly by impatiently and ready for my patient to wake up its so erotic to watch time flee the sean. I was never a chilled out person who could handle long periods of waiting,for something unknown but i did this time and took my chances. Along side being late to take my kids before dinner and ask them about how their day went or whatever,it's almost the end of my 60 hours shift. Only half an hour more and im free. I took a deep breath and took off to the cafeteria.

It was crowded to be honest it's filled in and out,red cross hospitals , who would have thought I might work in my family's business and be popular at the same time just for being once being married,divorced,with two kids,all that at the age of 28,looking flawless too,people don't see the full picture though. They see what they want to see,nothing more or less...

I got out of the hospital's cafeteria to the small cafe i love,it just got involved in my routine,and id come here anytime I want to avoid smoking.

My pager buzzing and making loud noises telling me im needed ASAP was the party popper.i dropped everything and dashed to the hospital."whats up?"

"There has been an accident we have a trauma case on the way of two teen's and one adult their saying its a DUI possibly more coming"the nurse articulated

I shook my head and yelled "i want all hands on deck just in case,get me plastic surgery and orthopedics available,anyone napping,or had their shift done,I don't care get them here asap"

I rushed to the changing room splashing water on my face slapping my cheeks to get awake i changed into fresh scrubs and headed back to the ER just intime as the ambulances unloaded

"Ellena 18 years old,two broken ribs, and a dismantled shoulder,she was in the passenger seat,she can't feel her left leg"he ran a cold pad down her leg and she had no reflex

"I see Chest hematoma possible lung damage,get me cardiac here,whats your name honey"i ask the girl

"Eehh el - Ellena Copper"

"Do you know where you are"I asked examining her abdomen .

"Im in the hospital duh"

"Good,any pain here"i ask pressing lightly. She nods negatively"Great now im gonna need you to stay still for me,its gonna hurt a little,but we need that shoulder back in it's place okay"she nodded

"Okay on three one two"and i just snapped her shoulder back in place

"Aww Lady you said on three!!"she yelped in pain.

I smiled apologetically "were done here. Take her to MRI for her leg,and look for any allergies"

I went And checked other patients who got into the OR,i then went to check on the adult who allegedly drove under the influence "how is he ".

"He's unconscious,no fractures just a broken forearm nothing critical"

"Okay great find me when he wakes up"

Later on A nervous,anxious girl came in scared heading towards me...

"Ughhh my friend-im looking for Ellena copper is she alright "

"Are you a family member?"i ask

"N-no she's my best friend she's family to me,please tell me is she alright!"tears betrayed her eyes,as she pleaded for an answer

"I can't give you detailed information, but she's In surgery and she will be out in no time"i said escorting her to the waiting area .

Lighting a cigarette on and inhaling my stress"Uughh"

"You know it kills,and your smoking?"

"Yeah it sure does"looking at her straight in the eye"why the tears"

"Something got in my eyes"she said running her fingers under her eyes .

I stand up and approach her way "let me see"

Solańa's POV:

I couldn't enjoy my night and its interrupted by an unknown number calling i picked up"Hello?"

"Hi,is this solańa grace its red cross hospital we called to inform you about an Ellena Copper"the women explained and i went straight to my car with sleep still in my eyes. 20 minutes and im frantically entering the ER,asking around to find a gorgeous lady that assures me she's getting the help she needs. I was on her emergency contact for a reason. I called her parents only to get their voicemails "what am I even expecting"i murmured going out for some fresh air

-Fresh air got me into this-

The gorgeous lady was inspecting my eye fully aware of the im tough act. Her icy orbs were so enticing i couldn't help but stare back. You guessed it,i lost the act.

She half smile's at me "your eye is fine dont lie,I know a cry baby when i see one"she chuckles. And god did i just get sent to heaven?

"Ugh don't call me that will you"Frowning at her i said"its Solańa by the way"i threw question marks at her to reply with her name

I hear a muffled curse"Amelia nice to meet you"she outstretched her hand,and i shook it

We Sat there sharing a cigarette in the cold weather

She grunts "how old are you to be exact" i was memorizing her profile features,not waisting time

"Im 19,senior in north cliffs high you"i gave too much information

She sighs saying "28 two kids divorced gay serves yo-"her pager butted in "catch you later im still on call"and she rushed inside

I wonder why i kept thinking of her,although it's morning already and they got Ellena out of surgery to a private room and she was still asleep. That brunette with the piercing eyes,was living in my thoughts rent free. I glanced at my friend after loosing hope she'd wake up now,their drugs were pretty good to make her look this peaceful. I thought why not do the same.

Taking a blanket i kissed her forehead and settled down on the uncomfortable couch,letting my mind wander until sleep takes charge of the ship.

Amelia's POV:

Tossing and turning in the bed to get my mind to sleep but it's useless,my phone buzzes on the coffee table,i reached for it and my eyes locked on the callers ID * Ricky* lighted the screen. I picked up knowing it's my girl calling from his phone,i got out of bed,i had a feeling i forgot something.

"Yes darling "i said

"Momy when are you coming to get us"her little voice asked

"Baby momy is on her way is daddy around"I ask grabbing my lab coat and walking down the hallways.

"Mommy wants to talk to you"i hear her little voice say on the other end and some grumbling in the background

I heard the impatience in his tone already"Amelia you said you'll be here 10 o'clock it's f*****g 7 in the morning,you know i have s**t to do "his tone was and still is unpleasant to my ears. I sighed

"Don't speak to me in that tone with my kids around you,im so not in the mood to dig up a grave for you now,im on my way,get the ready"i end the call getting in my car and driving to his house to take my girls home...

We Cuddled up in the master bedroom hearing my kids blabbing about their time with their dad and the trip they went on. An hour later im yawning desperate for sleep one eye out the other takes the lead

Allison was out in a cuma and Blair was nearly out,she reached to my chest and fell unconscious and i got the mark to have some shut eye.
