Despite years spent in Kaighal, Veelk had never seen the High Towers up close. Kamira loathed the place, and he had no reason to approach the building on top of the hill. Even if most of the tales of mage killers’ deeds were long forgotten, some overzealous scribe could still recognize him. And as much as he liked to entertain the thought of going against the archmages, he’d rather not be chased away from Kaighal as a murderer.
