Chapter three

1037 Words
DANIELS' POV. My name is Daniel Saviour, the director and CEO of Daniels' Empire. I was sitting elegantly in my well-furnished office waiting for my friend. My office was decorated with ash and silver, and its balcony faced New York City. I love to stand on the balcony when I'm less busy. I love to stare at people going about their daily business. People do say that in New York, one can't be lonely but right now I am more than lonely. Infact am the loneliest man in the world. I've felt this loneliness from the day I slept with Sandra, and ever since then, I've not been myself. It was as though I left a part of me the day I took her virginity. How can I forget what her mouth tasted like? Everything was so fresh as though it were yesterday. I was still standing there when Felix, my friend, walked in. I didn't know when he walked in until he tapped me. “Felix, I'm sorry. I didn't see you walk in.” Felix is my best friend, and we've been through thick and thin and always come out very strong. “It's fine. I just came back now,” he sat in front of my seat, which made me also sit. “Danny, don't tell me you're still thinking about Sophia's friend.” I rolled my eyes without answering him. “I've told you let me talk to Sophia, she'll talk to her …… “Please don't do that. I don't want Sophia to know about this, and I already have a fiancée. It's a one-night thing. I'll get over it.” “Anyways, don't forget that you're my best friend and your happiness is my priority. We'll soon be going to Paris for the wedding rehearsal.” He said and left and I got back to work immediately. I've been working for the past two hours when my phone suddenly rang. I picked it up. “Hi, Janet. I thought I warned you that I wouldn't want any disturbance.” “I'm sorry sir. Miss Linda is here to see you and can't budge when I told him you don't want to be disturbed.” “Alright. Send her in.” I hung up immediately. My countenance changed as soon as I saw Linda working towards my office. She was dressed in a skintight gown that showed her shape and a black shoe. She was coming back from her modelling shoot. Even though she was simply dressed, her face was caked with makeup. She can't just do without makeup and that's one reason I can't fall in love with her. She walked and wrapped her hand around my neck. “Hello, handsome. Did you miss me?” I sighed. “Why will I miss you, Linda? She huffed and stood up from my lap. “Try to be nice even if it's for once. It won't take anything from you.” She walked to the couch and sat down. “The only time I feel a connection between the two of us is when we have s*x. Aside from that, there's no connection at all. “I don't love you, Linda. I'm tired of explaining myself over and over again. How many times do you want me to say it? I can never love you. I only enjoy the s*x between us and that's the reason we're still together.” She started crying and it didn't shake me. It's none of my business. It's not that she's aware that I don't love her, but she thought I would wake up one day and change my mind, but that's very impossible. My heart is for one, and she's outside the country, and I don't even know how to reach her. “Daniel's Saviour! You're wicked. You're heartless.” She throws the flower vase on the floor angrily. I was already used to it. It was not the first time she had done it. “Janet, get a cleaner to clean up the trash in my office.” I ended the call immediately, buttoned my shirt, and was ready to leave. “I have a meeting in the next thirty minutes. Will you go or wait for me to drop you off? “I'll wait for you.” After an hour, Linda and I were walking arm in arm. I was so exhausted and wanted to rest. I opened the door of the car for her to enter and entered through the other passenger door. My driver drove straight to her house. “Come in for a cup of coffee, Daniels.” I wanted to say no but nodded and went in with her. She went in to get my coffee while I sat on the couch. “Here it is. She handed me the coffee and went in to change her clothes while I sipped my coffee silently.” “Daniels but why can't you love me?” She said as she walked from inside to sit down beside me on the couch. “Here we go again,” I murmured to myself. “You're lovable, Linda. The problem is not you but me. My heart beats for just one person and you're not the one.” I said to her truthfully. She sniffled as she tried to fight the tears almost streaming down her face. “But I love you so much, Daniels. Is it a crime to be in love?” “It's not a crime, and I'm grateful that you love me,” I responded, trying to sound calm. “What's her name?” She asked after she had calmed down. I remembered the smile on her face she was telling me things about her. I also smiled before answering her. “Sandra.” She looks up to me with lust-filled eyes, and immediately, the atmosphere changes. She took me into the room and I roughly undressed her. I slipped my finger into her to be sure she was ready for me. I entered her roughly, plunged into her deeper, which made her scream my name. As soon as I came, I picked up my car key and drove off.
