After Knox explains what happened between his family and the Royal Pack, it doesn’t seem real. I’ve never known Knox to be power-hungry.
“So, let me get this straight,” I say, pacing the living room floor. Knox sighs and sits on the couch, his expression guarded. I stop walking and stare at him. “Your grandfather was the one who tried to take over the Royal Pack, and when he was defeated, the rest of your family attacked?”
Knox looks away and nods. “Pretty much.”
“And you joined in as well. So I can see why the people in my pack don’t like you right now.”
His dark gaze jerks back to mine. “I just watched my grandfather die, Amelie. The same goes for my parents. My mother tried to protect my father and failed. I lost it after that.”
