A baby? Or did I hear wrong.
"A baby?" I whispered again.
"Yes." Mama answered, hugging me tightly. "You're expecting, child."
My eyes glistened with unshed tears as a certain level of excitement welled up inside of me.
"Is he aware?" I asked softly.
"No." Mama said brusquely.
"Good. I don't want him to find out just yet. I want to keep it from him." I said.
They nodded in acquiescence.
I felt a sudden burst of energy that had been lost for the past weeks.
