I was left in a daze when I was bundled and thrown outside the castle gate.
One minute Xaden was mad that I was pushed by Mira. And in the next, I was carried outside.
What was happening?
At that moment, I was sure I saw something in Xaden's eyes. Something powerful and striking. The kind that glistened his eyes whenever he was ready to defend me-- the kind that says, don't dare, she's mine.
When I was beginning to be ecstatic that he had come to his senses, I was thrown out and I don't even know why.
Or was it because I broke the water pitcher in the presence of their guests, Alpha king Logan and Lady Madeline?
Were they really going to go ahead with another mating ceremony when I was still alive? Isn't that why Violet's parents were here?
