"How did you know where I was?" I asked Xaden, having ridden for several minutes in silence.
Smiling, he said, "You called me."
"I did?" I wondered aloud.
"Aye." He said with a chortle.
My mind traveled back to the previous day and a chill ran down my body.
"There was a mind connection." Xaden said.
"A mind connection? How...? But we haven't had our mating ceremony."
"That we will, sweet. In a fortnight." He answered. "I sensed you were in trouble, and I heard you call out for help." He muttered, his face hard.
"I quickly made my way back to the castle. Xavier was sent to come get me, and he met me after I had crossed the Vein Gate. After he quickly explained that you went to the garden, I figured you had met your mother and the meeting didn't go well." He said.
