Chapter 2 Please Help Me!

The villa was luxuriously decorated, and its value was clearly in the millions. Brianna walked up the stairs and heard intimate sounds coming from a slightly open door. Two naked bodies were pressed tightly together. "Be gentle, my period isn't completely over yet." Xavier kissed her with a tenderness Brianna had never seen before. "Don't worry. I won't cross that line. Be a good girl. I'm just going to hold you while we sleep." Julie pouted in dissatisfaction. "What if you can't control yourself? Won't you just go back and have your wife take care of it?" Xavier showed clear impatience. "I don't want to touch her. Aside from absolutely having to, I feel disgusted just looking at her." Brianna stepped back involuntarily, and a sharp pain spread through her chest. Julie quickly sent her a voice message. Julie: You saw that just now, right? He'd rather hold me and do nothing while I'm on my period than go back home and touch you. Julie: You probably didn't know this, but we actually had a baby before. It was just an accident that I miscarried. Brianna felt numb from the pain. She knew exactly what Julie was referring to. The divorce agreement clearly stated that Xavier wanted her to leave with nothing because Julie was pregnant. Brianna typed a message and sent it. Brianna: As you wish. I don't want him anymore. Brianna went to a law firm and drafted a new divorce agreement that required only an equal division of assets. She knew that if they went to court, Xavier would lose more because he was at fault. However, she did not want to turn the marriage into a battle. She only wanted to leave as quickly as possible. Her priority was to get Xavier to sign the agreement. She sent another message to Julie. Brianna: If you can make him sign these divorce papers, he's all yours. Two days later, Xavier returned home. He looked refreshed and satisfied, but his expression toward Brianna remained cold. "What's wrong? You look exhausted." Brianna froze for a second, then shook her head. "It's nothing." At that moment, a deliveryman knocked on the door. "The flowers you ordered for your seventh anniversary. I'm so sorry, sir. The blue roses were out of stock the day before yesterday, so we're delivering them today. Happy anniversary to you both." He handed a large bouquet to Xavier and wished them a happy anniversary. Xavier froze for a moment before turning to Brianna with a surprised expression. "I'm sorry... I forgot that the day before yesterday was our..." Brianna looked at him coldly. "Apologizing now is a bit late. When you miss something, it's gone." Xavier reached out to take her hand, adopting a slightly coaxing tone. "Alright, so the flowers were a little late. Don't pull a long face. I was just swamped with work and forgot. I'll make it up to you." Brianna ignored him, tossing the flowers carelessly onto the table. Xavier was stunned, and the tiny sliver of guilt he had felt had gone instantly. "Brianna, you don't usually act like this." Brianna stopped in her tracks and turned back to look at him. "How exactly should I act?" 'Should I be endlessly submissive? Should I hang onto his every word? Should I fall to my knees in gratitude just because he said he'll make it up to me?' "It's just an anniversary, not some holiday. Are the formalities really that important?" "Fine, fine." Xavier waved his hand impatiently. "I'll make it up to you today. Go change your clothes. We're going to the mall." Xavier left and went downstairs. Brianna felt a wave of grievance rising inside her. She decided that it would be better to speak with him clearly. However, the moment she stepped into the elevator, the lights suddenly went out. Brianna's heart instantly leaped into her throat, and she pressed the alarm button repeatedly, but nothing happened. She called Xavier, but his phone was busy. She then received a message from him. Xavier: Something came up. Just wait for me at home. Brianna froze. She immediately received another message from Julie. Julie: Brianna, I've got bad period cramps. He's coming over to rub my belly. Looks like your anniversary plans are ruined again. Brianna felt cold all over. She suffered from claustrophobia, and the elevator's malfunction made her fear that it might fall! She sent multiple messages to Xavier. Brianna: I'm trapped in the elevator! Please call the building management! I don't have their number! Xavier, please help me! It's so dark in here. Please! But no matter how long she waited, Xavier never replied. Suddenly, a terrifying grinding noise echoed above her, and the elevator plunged into freefall! Brianna screamed and lost consciousness.
