Zade's POV:
Waking up every day next to my beautiful mate was a dream come true. I never thought I would ever find her, and I promised her I would never let her go again. My mate was not a wolf like me but something else, something unique and special. Lying next to her in bed, I admired her gorgeous long chestnut hair, hoping she would open her beautiful emerald, green eyes with gold specks in them. God, I love her. I thought to myself, letting my mate sleep, I decided to get out of bed to start on breakfast. But when I moved to get up. I felt a little figure at my feet, it tossed and turned and then sat up, a little replica of my mate. "Good morning daddy!" my daughter Serena said," Good morning cupcake, want to help daddy make breakfast" I replied. "Of course!" She squealed. Getting out of bed, I grabbed Serena and put her on my shoulders. Making my way to the kitchen, I place her on the counter, so I can grab the stuff to make pancakes. While Serena and I are mixing up the batter for pancakes, my mate comes into the kitchen, all sleepy, rubbing her eyes. "Good morning momma!" Serena screams. "Good morning my little girl" she says, hugging our daughter. She walks over to me and kisses me on the cheek. Serena makes a disgusted face and squeals. We both laugh, I turn around to grab a pan, and turned on the oven. I reached over to grab the batter from Serena, and I smiled, as I watched my beautiful mate dance around the kitchen with our little girl. Life was perfect.
I finished up breakfast, and we all sat at the table eating our pancakes. I look at Serena as she is devouring her pancakes, A little concerned she is going to choke. I look at my mate who is laughing at our daughter, who has butter and syrup all over her face. I wonder if she was going to be a wolf like me or even part of one. She looked exactly like her mother, so I wasn't sure about myself. I was about to tell my thoughts to my mate. When a loud bang of thunder and lightning rumbled the house. I looked at Serena, who was all scared and worried. "Mommy, daddy, it's summer and the skies are clear, why is there thunder?" Serena said in a shaky voice. My Mate looks at me. It pains me to see the worried and scared look on her face. I stood up from the table as quickly as I could. Grabbed Serena and tuck her in a closet upstairs. I ran back down to help my mate. I looked out our sliding glass door that was next to our kitchen to see burn marks in our backyard. My mate runs up to me. "There here." She tells me. I have never met them before, but my mate has told me stories about her past and where she came from, what she is. "We can't let them know about Serena; she has to stay hidden. If they find out-" She pauses with a horrified look on her face. "I won't let that happen." I tell her sternly. Her face calms.
Our conversation was interrupted by a loud bang from the sliding door. In front of the door were now three extremely tall figures, taller than me. And that's saying something, as I'm a wolf. One of the figures speaks up. "Hello, Elizabeth, I didn't think I would ever find you." He says to my mate. My wolf does not like this at all, he tells me. I moved in front of my mates, not letting them see her from my tall figure. "Hello Zeus." My mates said from behind me. "What are you doing here? I told you I meant you no harm. My grandmother Gaia offered you peace. I'm nothing like my father. I do not wish to become a Titan and finish what he started for my grandmother, I just want to be with my husband". She continued, walking out from behind me. I let out a rumbling growl, letting her know I didn't like that. She smiles softly at me. "I'm aware, Elizabeth, but you are a demigod, a descendant from Gaia, you're the only one of our kind that exists on the earth. Gaia put you down here years ago to hide you from me. She told me you were sent to oblivion with the Titans, one of them being your father. But I knew not to trust her, so I searched everywhere looking for a trace of her, over 10 years, and I finally found something. I followed it, and here you are." Zeus said as his fluffy beard swayed from the breeze coming in from the sliding door. "Please Zeus." My mate begged. I began to get angry; I didn't want them to take her again.
The wolf inside me started getting restless, wanting out to protect my mate. My eyes started to turn bright red, meaning my wolf was about to take control. I suddenly felt the hand of my mate touch my uncontrollable arm; my wolf settled at her touch. Taking in her scent, my wolf calmed down, allowing me to gain full control again. "I'm not going back, Zeus." My mate told him. "I never intended you to... at least not with your body." He spoke. And before we could take in the words he had just said, he took his lightning bolt and struck Elizabeth. She fell hard to the ground with a loud bang. I looked over at my mate. My heart stopped, seeing her cold, lifeless body on the hardwood floor of our kitchen. My wolf took full control with nothing stopping him this time. Shifting into full wolf, his murderous red eyes stared into Zeus. Howling in pain from losing my mate. My wolf lunged at him, but before I could reach him, he said "Freyja, goddess of witchcraft, place a curse on him for thinking he could even stand up to a god...then let's go home." In an instant The woman standing next to him whispered some words then a bright light came, and the gods were gone. I shifted back, standing alone in the kitchen with the body of my mate lying next to me. But for some reason, I didn't care, I felt lifeless, I wasn't myself. I didn't care anymore about anyone or anything. Remembering my pretty little girl was upstairs tucked away, probably scared, but I didn't care. I tried to fight it, to run up to my little girl to tell her everything was okay, giving her the biggest hug. I wanted to, but my body didn't let me. Instead, I carried the dead body of my mate with no expression, to the woods outside the house and buried her. I felt nothing. I wanted to cry and howl in pain...but I couldn't. Walking back inside, I grabbed a beer from the fridge, downed it as fast as I could. I repeated it a few times, then sat on the couch and passed out.
