Morgan was awakened just before dawn by a scream. Aria ran into the pavilion, crying. The little girl appeared to be distressed as she ran barefooted straight towards Gabriel’s room followed by Morgan.
“Apollooo!” she cried. “Losss hombres . . . los hombres mataronn . . . hurt.”
Gabriel sat up in bed. “Shhh, it’s only a dream, mi amor. Solo fue un sueño,” Gabriel whispered as he held her in his arms. “I’m here, remember? You’re safe.” He stroked her back, and she immediately calmed down and began playing with his hair. Soon, she was asleep again.
