As adaline drove to work, she couldn't help but question the situation at hand. part of her was screaming out the question to herself "What in the hell do u think your doing and how the hell had she gotten herself into this mess. Not only could she be harbouring a possible fugitive, she may be seen as a kidnapper. And on top of everything else, if the mafia were looking for lil jimmy, if she was to be scene as a problem,she would easily become expendable. Everything she owned, including the house that her grandmother had left her a long time ago, was in grave danger. But on the other hand she was already too much involved to back out now. the kid really needed her. he had nothing and nobody. There was one fact that really bothered her, and that was leaving a complete and total stranger alone in her house. he could rob her blind,and with her not being there,there wasn't a damn thing she could do about it. when she was only a few blocks from work she made her decision. she pulled out of traffic and found a place to park. she reached for her purse and retrieved her phone from it. with deft skill she dialed her bosses number and concocted a story, backed up by a few harsh coughs, that she was not feeling good and if it were ok with him, she was going to take the day off. her boss bought her story without a glitch and told her to take as much time as she needed and to hurry up and get well soon. she thanked him profusely, and began to retrace her drive home.

As she drove, she began to really question her decision to take lil jimmy in. by having him in her house. her life could very well be in grave danger. if someone could kill every person in his family, then she could very well be next. she needed to seriously rethink her decision. it could cost her everything. not that she had much. her biggest asset being the house that her grandmother had left her.Was she really willing to risk losing that? Even though everything in her said to back out now, she knew that she couldn't.she would never forgive herself if something happened to lil jimmy. the poor kid had nobody but her. if she didn't help him he was as good as dead.
