chapter 6

"how are u" she asked lil Jimmy. but as soon as the words were out, she regretted them.

"I'm fine" was his only answer.

she saw through his lie as if were a piece of window pane. of course he wasn't fine. who in his place would be.

"OK let's try this again,but this time let's try to leave out any lies." adaline said.

Immediately the boy burst out in emotion, and the tears welled up in his eyes. the sobs and convulsions wracked through his body. his tears raced down his face and her heart truly broke for the child. she got up and slid in next to him to embrace his sadden laced body and be gratefully accepted her offer.

She didn't want to rush him so she sat patiently and waited for him to talk first.

" I'm sorry", lil Jimmy started off with. " I lied to u, I. not fine at all". with these words he broke out into even more sobs and crying.

she held him tighter and did the best she could to consol him. she wanted to ask him what happened. but she she knew that it may only serve to damage him even more of forced to relive the

riders again.

After he calmed down a bit she went to get him a sunder. she thought it might make him feel a little better. she wouldale sure to make it extra large with a generous amount of toppings. when she returned with it his eyes went wide and even though his sadness, a smile came across the boys face. she couldn't help but smile back. but just as fast as hers was there it was gone.

Lil Jimmy immediately noticed her mood shift. both of them were similar in the fact that they were a good judges of character. a person only truly need to be around someone more than a minute or two before u knew what a person was really about and who they were. so when the smile dropped from her face, he sensed it right away.

"Jimmy" she said hesitantly." well need to talk," she informed him. he only nodded his head in agreement.

"so u know the cops are looking for ya." she said.

"what did u catch that on the news" he jokeingly said.

she couldn't help but chuckle at this. well at least the kkd still had a sense of humor.

"oh u got jokes huh."she mocked him. "but on a serious note, they aren't the only ones looking for u. u gotta be more careful. what are u doing walking the streets at this time of night anyways. his look had told her of her blunder and with a lowered head she solemnly apologized.

"Its ok " was all he said.

What she had to say next was a hard subject to breach. but she need to make sure he knew of the danger he was still in.

"so besides being the most wanted person right now in the sacramento pd, u are aware that u are the heir to ur fathers throne. all u have to do is look in ur history book to see how people will do almost anything to take power. and decided is often times found within their owns flesh and blood." she told him.

"i didn't even look at it from that angle. plus we can't forget about the intruder himself want to tie up any loose ends like the kid he left alive, he returned.

"He what?" she asked. " well in that case we better get u somewhere safe and do it quickly.
