AMBER
The night was cold and the last thing I remember was Kane bringing home in his arms.
He wouldn't stop lookingbat me as we walked back even though I had a feeling something was up.
"What was that beep on your phone the other time at the bar?"
"It was nothing. I just wanted to leave there and be with you, my darling," he said as he kissed me all over.
We stopped by our regular spot, a big shade somewhere in the woods and there we slept, cuddling each other through the night.
"Oh damn," a snap in the woods suddenly woke me up.
I stretched hoping to land my arms on Kane's body but there was nothing.
"Kane?"
"My love?"
Where is he? Where could he have gone, leaving me here all by myself?
I kept calling his name but the woods carried my voice into deep silence.
"Perhaps he had gone back but where would he go without telling me?"
That moment, I knew it was just me and I had to find my way to the pack house.
I strolled through the usual route, replaying the funny scene of Tristan asking me out at the bar.
"He must be shocked to the bones I maintained my stance. What exactly does that dude take me for? Some cheap ass girl he could deceive with his sugar-coated mouth?" I thought within.
"Kane is my now and forever," I whistled as I got to the pack house.
The entrance gate was scanty of guards. "This is unusual..is there an occasion?" I pondered.
I went in and headed to the small room that was given to me by my glorious father.
Lying on my bed was a folded paper and I picked it up to read.
"A letter from Kane..? Hmm…how romantic," I smiled.
I read;
Dear Amber,
I think I made a great mistake asking you to be my mate. I do not want to have anything to do with you anymore, not now, not ever.
Goodbye.
Like a volt of charge, running through my bones, I felt electrocuted down to my soul and the paper slipped off my hands…
What did I just read?
No!
My heart sank to the bottom and I couldn't feel anything around me anymore.
My heart raced like I was about to lose it.
"My Kane…The love of my life…No, this must be a stunt…He can't do this to me," I lamented.
I stared at the paper as tears rolled down my cheeks.
Without hesitation, I grabbed the paper and ran out to search for Kane.
I went to his quarters but couldn't find him there.
I met one of his wolf guards who looked at me in a weird way but I paid no attention to him.
"Where is my love? Where is Kane?" I asked.
"Everyone is gathered at the square with the Luna..Kane should be there," he answered and hissed.
My heart kept racing back and forth.
"The square? Is there an occasion?"
I shook my head and went to the square and there I met the members of the pack gathered with Sheila and Kane in their midst.
"My mate," I called out from where I stood.
Everyone looked back at me but my eyes were on Kane, hoping he would return the look with a smile and i would be at peace.
"What do you want?" He lashed out.
"Is this real?" I asked, raising the paper in my hand..
"Oh…that..of course it is….I should have done that a long time ago..infact I feel stupid that it took me this long to realize what a cheap ass b***h you are!"
"What?"
His cold words hit me and tears flowed out of my swollen eyes the more.
"You called me your mate…your heartrob..We love each other," I protested.
"Lies!!!!! All are lies and your witchcraft playing on my head but now I am free and I can see…"
"I thought I had seen a mate but I regret the day I ever professed my love to you. It was a huge error and even the Moon Goddess forbids I make such mistake again!!!!"
"Listen…" he walked a step closer.
"Open your ears and hear my words for this will be the last you will hear from me, b***h!" He spoke authoritatively.
"I, Kane Bellack of the Stark pack, reject you as my mate. I detest you and I don't want you wherever I am cause you are nothing but a worthless being as we all know!!"
"I mean, come to think of it, What does a wolfless Omega like you, have to offer me?". His harsh words rented the air.
I couldn't believe my eyes and ears. What is happening?
Sheila stood up from where she sat and shouted…"We all know how you have been forcing yourself on Kane…But now your wicked powers, that you sought after when you are alone in the woods, are useless towards him.."
"He has wisen up and he doesn't want you. Leave, already," she said in a loud tone.
"But I have done nothing.."
I saw my father step out of his chambers. "Thank Goddess..Father…I don't know about all this…I know nothing.."
"All I want is to be with the love of my life, Kane Bellack," I said in a weak tone.
"Don't believe her, love. Kane himself has seen with his eye. First, she is wolfless, now she is using witchcraft to lure the men of our pack to her bosom…C'mon, my Alpha, what more evidence do we need other than this???"
"Sheila, you are lying against me..Father…I don't–"
"Quiet!" My father's loud voice interrupted.
"What more do you want?"
"You have brought me enough shame already and I wouldn't have take my name to the mud because that is where you are heading to.."
"Even before your mother died, I knew you are a mistake and a bastard cause I'm certain you can't be my child.."
"Before you destroy the pack with the curse you carry around, I will do justice to your case."
"Fa-ther?" I stuttered with heavy tears falling down my cheeks.
"I hereby disown you. You will no longer be a Stark and you are banished from this pack, never to return again!!!"
"Take your things and leave, you cursed thing!"
