Chapter 29 — Dimitri’s POV
The sun sparked on my skin, I was woken up by the bright lights. I squeezed my eyes and laid back down on the Evelyn’s chest.
Who the hell wakes up at this time? I thought to myself. I closed my eyes and went to sleep back again but my thoughts were interrupted.
There was no heartbeat.
My eyes widened in horror and I jumped up to see Evelyn laying dead on the bed. She wasn’t breathing.
“Eve?” I tried to shake her but she didn’t do anything. She couldn’t die again. I shook my head and grabbed her face.
“Wake up!” I whispered to her. I let go of her face and it went back on the pillow.
“No, no!” I whispered as I moved away from her. My breath tightened as I looked at the medicines and the room.
