Blake Wards stood in the middle of the room that Kaya had once occupied, his chest tightening as the reality of her disappearance sank in. The familiar space, now cold and silent, felt like a battlefield that had been abandoned after the fight. He clenched his fists as guilt gnawed at him from every direction.
