Freya paced the length of the living room, her nerves coiled tight. Her heart was a drum in her chest as she thought back to the moments she’d seen Josh acting suspiciously. Over the past few days, she had noticed how his demeanor had changed—darker, more calculating, as if every step he took was part of some grand scheme. She had her doubts before, but now, they solidified into a suffocating certainty.
