Blake’s POV The hospital room felt less oppressive now. The weight that had been pressing on all of us seemed to have lifted, if only slightly. Kaya was awake, sitting up in her bed, her face still pale but calm. For the first time in what felt like ages, there was no crying, no tantrums—just quiet. It was almost unsettling, but I knew this was a step forward. She needed this. I sat in the chair beside her, watching as she gazed out of the window.
