We had a week of peace before the devastating news that one of the victims had been found. For a moment there, I'd forgotten the battles we were still yet to face. Living in the peace of our new lives being among the villages and seeing so many new matings happening, it was heart-filling. Mathew had gotten a call in the early hours of that morning from one of his friends from his pack. The hybrid victim was found and taken by Arakas. He'd been on the phone this morning for a long time trying to find out what had happened last night. He'd been in so much shock that one of his long-life friends was gone. The mood that had been peaceful and happy all week was now back to being tense and full of sadness. We were all in the main castle in the main hall waiting for him to finish his call.
