Chapter FOURTEEN

The news spread through the kingdom like wildfire. “They’re fought in the field .” “ The Lord's dutch alphas are at it again.”** “But this time… it’s about a girl.” A crowd had gathered at the edge of the market grounds, keeping their distance. Six figures stood in the center, shoulders heaving, eyes burning with barely restrained rage describing what transcribe what happened in the Lord Dutch household. One out of the six began his words. The six alphas. The ones who never raised their voices at each other. The ones who ruled together, hunted together, crushed enemies together. Now they were tearing into each other. “What’s the point of all this?” one man said in the midst of the six, shoving another man to the back. “You know she’s mine!” “Yours?” another one laughed bitterly. “You didn’t even know her name until yesterday!” “Enough!” the oldest snapped, but even his voice shook with fury. “She chose none of us, and you’re all acting like beasts over her!” The kingdom watched in disbelief. "A maid". The word echoed through the murmurs of the crowd. “A maid?” “What is happening in the kingdom? The six alphas—fighting over a maid?” “Has the world gone mad?” For centuries, the alphas had only ever looked at noble daughters, at she-wolves from powerful lines. But Laura… Laura was nobody. A servant. A girl who scrubbed floors and mended rags. And yet, every alpha in that field looked like they’d burn the kingdom down before letting another have her. The whispers reached the other side of the city by nightfall. In the shadowed halls of the Tyson household, the Tyson alphas heard it too. The Tyson alphas had always been rivals to the six. Where the six ruled through unity, the Tysons ruled through division. And now, they saw their chance. “Use Laura,” one of them said, a slow, cruel smile spreading across his face. “Let the six alphas tear each other apart over her. And while they’re distracted, weak… we strike.” Another leaned forward, eyes gleaming. “Yes. The six alphas are the largest house in the kingdom. If they fall, the kingdom falls to us. And all it takes… is a maid.” They planned it right there in the dark. Not to claim her. Not to protect her. To use her as a weapon against the six alphas who dared to want her. Based on your audio, here’s the scene written out: --- Night fell over the kingdom, but Laura’s small world lit up like dawn as she walks home From the market street to the eastern cliff, from the Blood River to the mountains, torches and lanterns flared to life one by one. The whole city seemed to glow for her. Laura stood on the way .staring . She smiled, but confusion pulled at her brows. *Why is this happening? Why tonight?* Before she could think on it longer, a figure stepped out of the shadows. Nathan. He stopped in front of her, a soft smile on his face. Laura’s breath caught, but she smiled back without meaning to. Nathan walked closer. “Laura,” he said quietly. “I want to make up for what my brothers did. If they made you uncomfortable, if any of this made you feel unsafe… I’m sorry.” Laura lowered her head, fingers twisting in her ragged coat. “I wasn’t uncomfortable,” she whispered. “Not with you.” is that why you light up the everywhere for me " “Look at me,” Nathan said gently. smiling . She obeyed, lifting her eyes to his. Nathan studied her for a long moment, something fierce and quiet settling in his chest. "I don’t care what the Moon Goddess says about fate,he thought. "I want to spend the rest of my life with her." Before he could say it aloud, footsteps sounded behind them. Alexander. He was returning from somewhere, his cloak ,was fine , with his mask as always .His personal maid stood behind him. His jaw tightened. He stopped dead when he saw them—Nathan standing too close to Laura, her eyes on him, the softness between them undeniable. Jealousy flared hot and brutal in his chest, not with love. but possessive. Alexander’s eyes darkened. He said nothing. He didn’t need to. He turned and walked away, but the plan was already forming in his mind. No gets what Is already mine. If he wants her, then she’ll prove it. Another test. A brutal one. And this time, Laura wouldn’t walk away unscathed. Raymonds Court – Night** The hall was still echoing with Raymond’s words when the doors burst open. The air in Raymond Court was thick with tension. Laura sat in the center of the hall, wrists bound loosely with rope, head bowed but eyes sharp. She was surrounded by guards, but it was Raymond’s presence that kept her still. Raymond leaned back on his high seat, watching her silently. He knew everything, what Alexander had done, what he was planning next. But he didn’t say a word of it to her. Laura’s throat tightened. She was trying to find a way out, any excuse to keep him from holding her here, any reason he couldn’t just let her go. Before she could speak, the doors slammed open. Alexander walks in. He strode in like a storm, eyes locked on Laura. His jaw was tight, fury barely contained. He didn’t spare Raymond more than a glance. “You don’t get to hold her,” Alexander said, voice low and dangerous. Raymond rose slowly, calm and infuriating. “She’s in my court now. You don’t get to command that.” Alexander didn’t argue. He moved fast. In two strides he was in front of Laura, grabbing her arm with a grip that was firm but not hurting her. She gasped, startled, as he pulled her to her feet. “ sir Alexander” she started. “Not here,” he cut her off, eyes dark. “We’re leaving.” Raymond stepped forward. “You’ll do no such thing.” Alexander turned, putting himself between Raymond and Laura, shielding her without even thinking. “Try me.” The tension in the room snapped. Guards shifted, hands hovering over weapons, but neither alpha backed down. For a second it looked like it would turn into a fight right there in the hall. Then Alexander tugged Laura again, dragging her toward the door. “You beat me once, Raymond,” Alexander said over his shoulder, voice cold. “Not again.” And with that, he pulled Laura out of Raymonds Court, leaving Raymond standing there, jaw clenched. Laura stumbled to keep up. She knew what was happening. Only that Alexander wasn’t letting her go this time.
