She was alone in a cave again. Her body was surging with pain and heat. They were coming on more and more often, she wasn’t sure she would survive but she thought that every time. The cycles we’re increasing in closer increments and lasting longer each time. She would seek refugee in her mind, thinking about what Gabriel did for her while the fire in her body surged. She couldn’t last a week like this.
3 days had passed of insurmountable pain. By the end of day 3, it was getting better. They weren’t lasting as long and had longer times of relief. The intervals were long enough now that she got 6 hours of sleep. She barely slept the first 3 days. It had been 4.5 days and she felt her heat was over. She wanted to wait longer to be sure, it would be bad if she left before it had fully subsided.
Midway through day 5, she was sure it was done however she realized her brother wouldn’t be there for another 2 days. She didn’t have a phone to call him. She would just be bored in this cave till he came. She could venture out, but this wasn’t the best place to be adventurous. She didn’t really have it in her anyway. She just wanted to get back and see her family and Gabriel. She always smiled when she thought of his name, but she didn’t know why. She knew in many ways they were similar and maybe he just got her in a way no one else did. They never had a chance to talk about her journal. It seems to sadden him, but he still looked at her the same way. She didn’t know how he could, but he did. She fell fast asleep from pure boredom.
A pounding at Logan’s door woke him up. “What?” He yelled out. A voice on the other side of the door said, “Gabriel asked to speak to you”. Before he was done with the sentence, he was out the door heading to the dungeon. He couldn’t wait to have his best friend back no matter how little time they had. He barged through the dungeon doors. “Gabriel” he called with joy. He seemed well-rested and dressed, his hair was combed, and he had definitely showered. “Hey bro,” he said with a smile. “I’ve missed you. You smell good enough to eat” he chuckled. Gabriel was grinning ear to ear “I think it’s time to go get your sister” he said with a smirk. “Really? We’re supposed to leave her 2 more days”. He questioned. “I think it’s passed, rather my wolf is sure. He said to go get her.” He said chuckling. Her brother smiled, “I’ll see you in a few hours” as he starts to runoff. “Bro, unlock the door! I’m coming with you” he yelled. “Are you sure, you’ve never asked to leave before” he said hesitantly. “It’s all good, he told me to go get her. He said he’ll behave. She said I got to listen to him”. Logan smiled wide, “Road trip!!” He screamed excited. He scrambled to get the key in the lock, having trouble with his excitement. “Relax man, I’m not changing my mind. We’re gonna be in a locked car for hours, dude”.
