Chapter 20I awoke the next morning and went straight over to Catherines apartment after stopping for a large coffee, croissant, and a bottle of water. I parked my car on a side street where I could watch for her to leave. I sat sipping my water, and after about an hour, I watched as she stepped out of the apartment and onto the street. She turned left and started walking towards the taxi stand. There was no one on the street; she wasn’t being followed.
I trailed her across Lucca. The taxi stopped in front of a small ancient building on a crowded street. I could not tell what kind of business occupied it.
