Chapter 20I awoke the next morning and went straight over to Catherines apartment after stopping for a large coffee, croissant, and a bottle of water. I parked my car on a side street where I could watch for her to leave. I sat sipping my water, and after about an hour, I watched as she stepped out of the apartment and onto the street. She turned left and started walking towards the taxi stand. There was no one on the street; she wasn’t being followed. I trailed her across Lucca. The taxi stopped in front of a small ancient building on a crowded street. I could not tell what kind of business occupied it. The private investigator must share an office. She got out of the taxi and had it wait while she went in. In less than five minutes, she came out and left. I waited and could tell no one
