Chapter 58

1265 Words

Chapter 58I spent the night at my son’s house. He and his wife wanted all the details. I left out the details about my fight with the terrorist, and my involvement with the FBI. Just the details of being at the Grammys and Cindy’s performance, etcetera. I was about halfway home when my phone buzzed: Cindy. Before I could hit the reject call button, the car answered, “Hello, Cindy.” “Hello, Warren, do you have a minute?” “Yes, I am alone.” “Where’s Maria?” “She has left to go home to Italy. I am driving back to Hayward.” “I wanted to call sooner but didn’t want to add to the drama. I wasn’t sure how Maria had taken being in the middle of a bomb scare . . . I would love to see you; maybe dinner at your house?” “Where is Rick?” “He left on a fishing trip with Ben. I fly home tonight.”
