Is She Real!

Dean's POV

"I'm safe and good." My heart started to pound faster and faster with her reply.

"Don't worry about me. And tell everyone that I miss them.I miss you Dean. I need to go. I'll text you later." She replied in f*******: message.

I read the messages which she sent me for the past 4 hours repeatedly. I couldn't believe that she miss me, but I couldn't control my stupid smile which forms in my face while reading her messages again and again. Suddenly I heard someone clearing their throat and turned to look who the hell came into my room without Knocking. As usual it's my sadistic sister. "Seems like someone is having very hard time without seeing Mia!"

I sighed and with an irritated tone I asked my sister, "What the hell you want?"

She sat next to me in my bed and looked at me pathetically. She was about to tell something but her boyfriend called her continue. The guy whom I like the most is her boyfriend, Richard. He's 8 years elder than me and he was our long last neighbour like Mia and strangely we get along. Not only that he's a professor who works in our university, handles French. I know he won't call these many times if it's not a big deal. So I insist her to talk with him.

For the next 3 days, there was no message from Mia and the days were extremely longer than ever before. I didn't felt like me at all in class even though I was again the centre of attention and I got back to my position from which Mia pulled me down or may be aside. My training was perfect, classes were perfect but something bothers me. I felt like I'm not at all complete. I took my phone and looked at Mia's f*******: account, she didn't came online since she messaged me last. I went to bed with a heavy heart. That weekend was also the same.

Next Monday when I went to my class, Mia entered into class with Richard discussing something serious. She came and sat next to me and gave an apologetic smile.

"Hey! How are you?" She asked casually.

"Good. But, by the way.... You are looking like a s**t!" I said. Yes, she really do. She seems like she didn't got any sleep in a while. Dark circles in her tan skin, worried eyes, pale skin... I don't know how to describe her now.

"I know, but I'm okay." She smiled and took her book as the class started. I'm happy for her return but she started to snatch away the attention which people gave me again. That week, all the professors targeted her for taking unannounced absence and shoot numerous hardest and advanced questions to her, but she answered everything without making any effort and that shaken me.... I felt like I was thrown from my top position and she's getting crowned instead of me. What the hell she was doing for the past one week? How the hell is she able to answer everything so easily?

I don't know... I don't have the nerve to ask her about that, so I started to study even more harder than ever before. My sleeping time was reduced to 4 hours from 8. I collected all the books related to aeronautics and made a library for me in my room. It took two weeks to finish it, after that I started to spend most of my days with the books. I didn't have any time to realise how fast the time flies because the first semester examination started without any symptoms and I wrote my exams perfectly and I'm waiting for my crown of being the top student and I hope I'll get the student of the year award.

When I was flying on my own thoughts I heard Mia talking with my stupid siblings... But their conversation seems to be serious. If Mia is having that serious look, then that'd be a huge problem. When I tried to join them they stopped talking and looked at me like I'm some kind of stranger who walked to them.

"Is everything alright guys?" I asked with a confused expression and then only I noticed something. Something very important to my family.... Something very important to my sister... She's having a beautiful ring on her ring finger. When the hell she got engaged?

"See... My very buys brother finally came down to have a conversation with us... Completely two months after my engagement." My sister said very furiously, as her face turned into crimson in anger. I never saw her with this anger.

Wait...

Two months after the engagement?

How the hell she can do it to me? I'm her brother, how could she get engaged without even telling me?

"What? Engagement ?" I asked with a shocking reaction and it made her anger raised to the peak.

"You must have told me about that. How could you get engaged without me? I'm your brother." I asked. All it takes was a big hard slap across my face from my sister.

"Who didn't invited you?" She laughed, but it was scary as hell.

"How many times we have to know your door to tell that I'm getting engaged? And what you said? Don't you remember it?" she questioned me with an intense to kill me in her eyes. But, what is she talking about? I don't remember anything... I tried to think hard, but nothing came out.

"You don't have time for an engagement! Your only sister's engagement party ! Because you were seriously studying?" She bust into tears and I don't know what to do. Mia looked at me with a confused look and my brother tried to calm my sister.

"Hey sweetheart!" Richard said enthusiastically.

Oh god! Of all the time why must he come now?

He walked towards Camila and his face dropped at the sight of her crying face. He rushed towards her and took her face in his palm. "What happened baby? Are you alright?"

I got into a deep s**t pit now and I know it very well. I might be a protective brother, but Richard is her overprotective boyfriend. Sorry... Fiancé, now. Mia told me to leave the place with her eyes and I definitely understand and followed it. I went to my room thinking and trying to process what my sister told me. And I got ready to receive the punches from Richard for making his fiancée crying.

Suddenly... I got what my sister was talking about. Holy crap! I'm going to be a dead meat.

Yes... What my sister told is all true. One day I heard someone knocking my room while I was studying hard and I told them to leave me alone. Camila tried to talk with me many times but I cut her by saying I don't have time even in my phone. Again I heard the knock another day and since I locked my room from inside no one can come into it.

"Dean... I have something important to talk with you." Camila yelled.

"Stop yelling... I'm studying!" I shouted back and went back to studying.

"I'm getting engaged with Richard. He proposed me and I said Okay." She yelled through the door but yet I didn't opened the door. I was very busy with studying and I didn't even tried to get what she's saying. I just replied Okay.

"We are getting engaged in a month, 28th." She said.

"Okay!" That's all I said. I went back to studying and my brain didn't took even a single word that my sister said inside it. Again after few days she knocked my door. Not only her, but My mom, Albert, even my dad but I didn't got up from the study even for a bit.

"Won't you come to my engagement party, Dean?" My sister asked me with a soft voice which I never got to hear in my whole life but my brain didn't allowed me to recognise it.

Instead I replied like a prick.

"I don't have time. I'm studying seriously. And... Party are all waste of time!" After that I didn't hear any sound and no one disturbed me. I received my food in my room and studied a lot. In class Mia tried to talk with me but I never let her talk and started to study.

Now remembering and realising everything I feel like a shit... A load of s**t! I was expecting for a severe beat up from Richard but he didn't came to my room. Instead Mia knocked the open door of my room. I don't know what to say to her, I just simply sat on my bed looking at the garden through the balcony. As she sat next to me, my heart started to race in million miles per second so I decided not to look at her face for any reason. She started to talk.

"Camila waited for you at the engagement party till it was over."

What? The guiltiness washed over my body. I don't know how I'm going to face her, but I have to do something to correct this. I know she'll never forgive me for my behaviour. Even when I heard my dad's voice that day, I didn't realized something important is happening, how dumb I was!

"She was very excited about Richie's proposal. She wanted to tell you all, but you didn't took that seriously when she did that." Mia said in a soft voice.

I really don't know how I'm going to make it up for Camila, but I have to find a way. She continued...

"She wanted to go shopping with you... Her favourite brother. But you locked up yourself inside your room. And even I tried to talk with you. But you showed me no difference." She finished with a big sigh. I just got to know that I'm her favourite brother and I feel like I'm drowning in the deepest sea of guilt and had no way to reach the shore. I'm a stupid who hurt his only sister.

But this girl beside me is the end of mine and she just proved it.

Before she left my room she walked to the library that I made. She glanced at all the books with a sweet smile and turned to me. "If you don't read the fundamental Physics and Chemistry along with Mathematics, you couldn't fully understand these books."

What that hell?

I looked at her confused and she noticed it.

"John D Anderson's Fundamentals of Aeronautics and Aerodynamics are the best one. So add it to your library."

What the hell is she saying? I noticed all the shade in my face dropped and I became pale at her words.

"How do you know that? Have you read it all already?" Even though I know it's not possible, but I asked her because I wanted to get a clear picture above her idea of that book just she recommended.

"Well. This particular book makes it complicated by skipping it's steps even in Chapter 1, but in the book that I recommend everything is explained clearly. Check if the latest version is available or not, because I read that five years ago." Mia said.
