It didn’t take long for Kane’s office to be buzzing with people while his mother was in the middle of directing everyone. The faint rustling of book pages filled the surrounding air, and the clicking of computer keys was the only response.
I wouldn’t say I was bored, but I wasn’t feeling very helpful just sitting on Kane’s lap. Everyone was doing something. Axel and Graham were researching old trials in the books while Katie was searching through the Devil’s Mountain archives online. Rooster was printing documents and helping Opal with writing significant dates and Lunas on a whiteboard.
I finally got to meet Kane’s gamma. Rooster was a very nice man with a raunchy sense of humor.
