Kane’s POV
I lift my eyes from Ila to see several men moving swiftly in our direction from across the crowded ballroom. Different degrees of fury and worry showed on each man’s face as they weaved through the guests and tables. I don’t know all of them, but I know several are elders and one is definitely Alpha Dean Williams of Crescent Moon pack.
“Please… Don’t let him get me…” Her whimper is barely audible. I look down at her, then back at the oncoming group.
As the men get closer, I move her behind me. My body is so large compared to hers, I completely shield her from view. Without having to say a word, my warriors barricade around us.
