“Do you think I’m a burden?” I ask, my heart slowly dropping. Everything I just ate suddenly felt like lead in my stomach. I wanted to run after Kane and beg him to explain why he’s cold suddenly. He says he wants me to go to his pack, but it’s complicated? What does that mean? Is it because I’m blind, or does he have another mate there? The thought of another woman in his life makes me feel even worse.
