“Well, I can’t fix your tooth or regrow your pinky finger, but the rest of you has patched up quite nicely.” Serena says letting her magic wash over Miles. “Now you just need a shower, clean clothes and food. Maybe even a haircut.”
I look him over and see a visible change in his demeanor. The once rough, rebellious man was actually just a boy, pretending to be something he isn’t. With his face devoid of the previous cuts and bruising, he looked younger. His chocolate eyes originally showed determination to survive, but now a promise for a better future.
