Kane's POV
I close the door to Alpha Carter's office and come face to face with a small horde of worried people waiting for news about Ila. After Ila fainted, Alpha Carter directed me to take her to his office, away from prying eyes. The smashed piano and death threat on the wall already had the pack house buzzing.
All eyes were on me, waiting for me to say something, but honestly, I was too deep in my own thoughts to give any updates. When Ila collapsed, I thought I was going to lose her again.
"How is she?" Katie asks, finally breaking the silence, her grip on Graham's hand tightening like a vise. She was just as worried as the rest of us. I rub the back of my neck just to give me something to do. I felt helpless as Ila remained silent, her lack of words a heavy weight on my heart.
