CHAPTER 5
I’m new in town, in a new job, in a new house and in a new neighbourhood. I work with a lot of nice people at a growing communications company that hired me as their Global Benefits Manager, and some of those people are curious. They want to get to know me. I would rather keep everyone at arm’s length, but I don’t want to be rude. Occasionally, I have to accept an invitation to a work night out or to someone’s dinner party. Every time I do, I end up having pretty much the same conversation. It goes a little something like this exchange I had with Leeanne recently on a night out from work.
I love Leeanne. She has been great to me at work, and she’s fun to be around while not being too nosey. She’s married to Keith. I adore Keith. He’s not much to look at, but he dotes on Leeanne
