CHAPTER 19 When I come home from doing the shopping on Friday evening, I hear the piano from the dining room. I greet Sammy, who’s busy sticking his nose in the bags, take the groceries to the kitchen, stick a ready meal in the oven and walk over to the piano. It’s gone silent. Jeff has closed the lid and is resting his head in his arms on it. He has a forlorn look on his face. “What’s up?” I ask and sit down on the floor next to him, crossing my legs.
