This was unplanned but something told him it would be worth it. He was not going to just pass by and let somebody get killed for something that was maybe not even their fault.
Such things did not go down well with his mindset. The fact that he was unable to find a way to save his mother always terrified him a lot. It showed how hopeless he was, even with the knowledge and the power of being a dragon, he could not save her.
He was hopeless. He was unhappy. And now, there was a certain way for him to fix that. At least, to find a part of him that was happy in all of this. A part of him that wanted to save others. That was the part of him that pulled him here.
