The desolate outskirts of the city, devoid of any houses, created an eerie atmosphere. The large, round moon was the only source of light. Not far away, a small river flowed lazily, and the occasional breeze helped alleviate the heat somewhat.
Two groups of men, along with a large truck, were moving back and forth in the darkness. The vehicle that brought the goods had already left. Wooden crates were placed on the ground, opened to check the contents inside, before they helped each other lift the large crates onto the back of the truck.
Just as the exchange seemed to be going smoothly, gunshots rang out, causing panic among everyone in the area.
