"Hyuk-Oh, Haeun. There you are!" someone shouted which caused the two of us to turn and look at that direction. "Song Hye orabeonim," We both said simultaneously, we bowed when he was already in front of us. I maybe one of the legitimate children but he was still older than me. Song Hye was 5 feet 7 inches tall. his eyes were small, hooded and had a distinctive black outline. His face was somewhat angular giving him this "manly" aura, which is the opposite of what he is in my opinion. His hair was in a typical Sangtu and had heukrip with a okrojeongja on top and the gatkkeun reflecting the sunlight . He was wearing a Cream dopo, topped with a green gwaeja with a red saejodae tied around the higher part of his waist while he also had a white baji under, and the traditional white beoseongat and black heukhye. "When did you get back?" Haeun asked in a shocked way. Well we are all shocked. "I arrived yesterday. You do not sound happy to see me." He said in a jokingly-disappointed tone. "What Haeun meant was, we thought you were busy training to become a janggun." I said while secretly rolling my eyes at Haeun. We rarely see Song Hye for the past years as he was busy ever since he passed the mugwa five years ago. "I was, this is my week off before father makes me general." He said while rocking on his heels and smiling brightly. I am starting to wonder how is he going to survive the battle field. "So I thought why not have a little bonding with my siblings and a look around town before I am sent to the field. And I have been looking all morning for the both of you. I went to both your residences but the remaining gungyeo there said you left.Well, come now Jung Hwa Hyeongmin, Young-Il awoo, and Yeop Yeong awoo are waiting for us." He turned around and started to walk, we followed behind him shortly. Great another family gathering, hopefully we won't end up ripping each other's throats out like last time. Well technically last time was just half of us and we ended up fighting because someone kept rubbing it in that they have a higher position now. Good thing the sensible ones are here to mediate this gathering. "So... Hyuk-Oh, you are not married yet, how come?... I have been gone for five years and father has not given your hand to anyone yet. With Dae Hyun Hyeong dead you must feel really lonely?" He said as he kept walking forward. "I do not know why, maybe someone has or maybe someone has not. I am starting to think father is still overprotective over me." I took a deep breath. "Dae Hyun orabeoni is not dead yet, I refuse to believe that as long there is no body I still believe he is alive." "No body?!" He stopped walking and turned to around to face me. "I thought someone found a body and confirmed it to be hyeongnim?" "Who told you that?" Haeun asked she seemed genuinely surprised that the the third son was not informed properly . Usually it is always them who gets informed about those. What everyone in the palace knows is that Dae Hyun went missing, no body came back so even father refused to believe he was dead. "Everyone in the kingdom knows that; in the capitol, the smaller villages and at the training camp. They all know Dae Hyun Hyeong is dead " He said as he look dumbfounded that what we know is not matching. "Well he went hunting with a few naeguemwi. They never came back, no hide or hair, not even the horses came back. It is like they just disappeared." I said in a low tone. I am still wondering why he thinks Dae Hyun is dead, father would never allow such news to break out. "Well then, no body means he is still alive. Do not lose hope we will find him eventually." He smiled at me, turned around again and walked ahead. "How about you Haeun? Has anyone asked for your hand?" He asked as we entered the garden. "Last year one of the minister's son asked for my hand but I do not know fathers verdict yet." She said as she looked at the water as we crossed the bridge towards the pavilion. It was hexigon shaped, with it's six post painted red and the roof a combination of red, black and green. It was posted at the middle of the lake in the palace garden. "What took you so long Hyeongnim?" Yeop Yeong said as he stepped out of the pavilion and walked towards us. "Hyuk-Oh nui and Haeun nui, how have you both been? Where is Seulgi nui, Song Hye hyeong?" "My, you've grown Yeop Yeong." I said with a smile. He was probably around 5 feet 4 inches, 2 inches taller than me, Haeun, and Seulgi. He was wearing a yellow dopo that was topped with a copper-colored jeonbok, with a red saejodae tied at above his waist as well. His hair was also in a ttaeheun meori. His face was also round like Sook Joo's, his eyes were down-turned like Haeun. "See I told you I got taller." His smile was almost brighter than the sun as he said these to the other men walking towards us from the pavilion. "But skipping you're studies is another, you should be with Sook Joo right now." Jung Hwa said as he tapped Yeop Yeong's shoulder. Young-Il followed behind him laughing quietly. Jung Hwa was around 5 feet 10 inches, had an angular face with down-turned eyes. Young-Il was an inch smaller than Jung Hwa, he had a more squared shape face with a deep set of eyes. Jung Hwa was wearing a white dopo that topped with a black jeonbok while Young-Il had light brown and orange. Both their hairs were also in Sangtu with the heukrip with an okrojeongja on top of their heads. I guess they plan on walking outside the palace after meeting here. "Seulgi is going to get the two who are responsible enough to not skip their studies." Young-Il stated while holding in a laugh. Yeop Young pouted as almost all of our older brothers were picking on him. "I did not skip my studies." He said in a cute way. "I just hap-" "Happen to think it is a good way to escape the lecture." He was cut off when when someone spoke. "Grand Tutor Choi is furious, good thing he is going to let this pass since he knows you went to see Song Hye orabeoni." "Seulgi do not be to harsh on Yeop Young. If I remember you also used to skip studies as well." Seulgi had a round yet angular type of face and had hooded eyes that were small and had a black outline. She was wearing wearing a bright yellow chima, topped with a pastel pink colored dangui with golden patterns on the sleeves and collar. Her hair was fixed into Ttoya meori, that had a bongjam and a dwikkoji with a design of cherry blossoms adorning the bun. She also had a phoenix cheopji on top of her head. "Can we please head into the pavillion. I did not come home just to watch you guys bicker under the sun." Song Hye stated as he walked towards the shade of the pavillion. "I did come home to watch you children bicker in the shade tho." "If you'll all excuse me eoni and orabeoni. I'll just watch the arguement from there." Haeun said with a sweet smile as she sat beside Song Hye. "Wait you mean to say Seulgi nui also used to skip studies?" Sook Joo said in amazement. I laughed, they have a tendency of bringing back the past specially when you're becoming a kill joy. "Better not involve Sook Joo, that includes you Dong Yul. It's better to watch from a far when two tigers collide" I said as I held both of them by the hem of their sleeves and pulled them towards the pavilion. "Now those are words of wisdom. Sook Joo and Dong Yul always take note of what Hyuk-Oh says." Jung Hwa said as he followed us. "What about me hyeong? I am the second youngest here." Yeop Young said as he tries to walk back into the pavilion while Seulgi was busy arguing with Young-Il about the past. "Yeop Young where do you think you're going?" Seulgi rebutted. "Give the kid a break. You use to do the same thing when we were young anyways." Young-Il was literally laughing at this point. We laughed and told stories about the past 5 years to Song Hye. The smile on everyones faces was exactly how we use to laugh and smile when we were young. Oh how I wish that time just stopped at that moment. >>>>>>><<<<<<< Unfamiliar words janggun- general hyeongnim- how a younger boy calls an older brother with honorifics naeguemwi- royal guards nui- how a younger boy calls an older sister, with honorifics it becomes nunim orabeoni- how a younger girl calls an older brother.
