Elizabeth didn't say a word more, realizing that what she said in the beginning was more than enough. As soon as the class was over, Mia ran to meet Amber in the dinning hall and Liz couldn't help but smile at how happy her friend looked. If they weren't couple goals then she didn't know who were.
She stayed behind some minutes more to finish taking the notes Mr. Ambrose had written in the whiteboard, thinking that she was alone, but when she got up to take her backpack and go, she felt a hand grabbing her wrist tightly.
"Do you think you're so smart, trying to embarrass in front of everyone?" She heard a voice and when she turned she saw the boy from before, with his silver necklaces.
"Let go of me," she said, her voice strong and even, and a little bit more unbothered than the boy would like to see.
But he approached her more, his hand wrapping around her wrist tightly, to the point it started hurting and she knew there was gonna be a red mark afterwards.
"f*****g apologize, now!" The boy demanded angrily, as she tried to pull away from his grab.
Elizabeth gasped. "What's wrong with you?" She asked, this time a little bit more scared, not hearing a voice coming from outside, figuring out that the hallway was empty too.
"Now!" He ordered, only upsetting her further more.
"In your dreams," Elizabeth hissed between her gritted teeth.
"You little—"
"Let her go, now." She heard a really familiar voice behind her cutting him off, as she noticed the boy's eyes growing wider. She couldn't understand how she didn't hear the door opening but his voice made every part of her body calm down immediately, as if he had come to her rescue. Which was stupid, she didn't need a man rescuing her.
"But, Professor—"
"Boy, you can't imagine what the consequences of your actions will be if you don't do what I say right now," Daniel continued, seeing the boy let go of her wrist and rush out of the class as soon as possible,. She still couldn't process what happened entirely but she felt her professor taking her hand in his delicately and blowing in it to ease the pain, making her entire body tremble in unknown desires. "Are you okay?" He asked, his voice soft and worried, and she couldn't help but feel her heart rate increase, but she found herself pulling her hand away from him.
"T-thank you, sir," she mumbled and it totally caught him by surprise. Did she have these words in her dictionary? "But I could handle this myself," she continued, and he chuckled at himself for how naive he had been.
"You won't ever let a man help you, right?" He asked with a playful grin in his face, and she found herself liking this side of him. However, she didn't let her face show it.
"Not when the man assumes I go around ruining his life," Elizabeth said, watching him straight to his eyes before turning on her heels to go. "Goodbye, Professor," she said behind her shoulder, leaving him even more surprised.
This girl was unpredictable, this was for sure. However, Daniel knew she had a right to be mad, after what he had told her just a few days ago, but he wasn't that much to be blamed. He didn't even know her that well to trust her, and she had to understand it was risky for him. But it was typical of Elizabeth Brown to think she was right all the time and he didn't know if he loved this about her or not.
Actually, deep down, he knew he did...

Mia kept explaining to Amber what happened in Mr. Ambrose's class as if it wasn't the millionth time already. And every time Amber was left even more surprised.
"Liz, you wanna pass that class right?" Amber asked, chuckling while she kept scrolling through the screen of phone.
"I don't want to only pass it, Amber, I want a straight A," Liz responded, putting the most important things in her bag as she was already late for work and the redhead would definitely scold her if she was there.
"Mr. Ambrose actually agreed with her and this is so rare from him. He never gives his opinions in his discussion classes," Mia informed them. Liz had no idea about this until then, and it did surprise her, actually.
"Well, I don't care much about him, or his opinions for that matter," Liz said, knowing she was obviously lying. If they only knew what just happened, but she couldn't tell them, even though she knew they wouldn't tell anyone else. But by telling someone of what was happening between them she'd only prove him right and she didn't want him to have this satisfaction.
"You have more guts than me, I must admit," Amber said, clicking her tongue in her mouth, a habit of hers.
Elizabeth shrugged casually. "It's not that big of a deal."
"It is!" Mia shouted. "You never know what that kind of professor is thinking right now."
"Bye, girls," Liz greeted them, running as fast as she could, completely ignoring Mia's last comment.

The only thing Liz wanted, was to go home after that mentally and physically exhausting day, considering she had slept for only two hours last night but there was still an hour before she'd be free to go and that looked like an eternity. The clients didn't seem to stop coming and she only sighed in frustration.
Her eyes widened in surprise when she saw Mr. Ambrose at the other side of the bar, laying his gorgeous emerald eyes on her, that somehow looked even prettier when the room wasn't that much lighted, like now for example. Why she had to have that reaction whenever she saw him, it was left unexplained in her head.
Her mind went to the days when he hadn't came in the bar, leaving her wonder if he'd never step foot inside just because of her. The owner of the bar even thought he didn't come because of the incident with the glass, since apparently, he was an everyday client.
After taking a heavy breath, she took the courage to talk to him, "Good evening, sir. What will you order today?" She asked in a serious voice, that made him raise his brow suspiciously.
"A vodka, love," he answered, a playful look written all over his face, and suddenly she couldn't breathe for a split second after hearing the name she missed hearing for more than a week. But he'd never know that for sure.
After preparing the drink and serving it to him, she tried to continue with her other work, but his gaze was almost stopping her, just like the first time. He seemed so different outside campus, not seeming to hide his flirtatious look or his interest on her for that matter, and this only confused her even more.
She prayed for him not to open the morning topic, but as if he'd read her mind, that was exactly what happened. "Are you always that energetic in other classes or is it only in mine?" He asked while brushing his hair with his hand, and Liz seemed to like this about him too.
She acted as she was thinking for some seconds, before answering, "It depends. But I have to admit, your discussion classes are the most interesting ones."
He couldn't help but smile at her honesty, and she smiled right back at him, sincerely, for the first time. It wasn't a really big smile but it was enough for him to realize that she had the prettiest smile he had ever seen on someone, and the fact that it was directed to him, it warmed his heart.
"And I have to admit, you're the most interesting student of this year so far," he said, still with a smile in his face, and she had to bit her lip to not smile more widely.
"Why are you bothering Mr. Ambrose? Go back to your work." They heard the annoying voice of Mrs. Wilson, and Elizabeth rolled her eyes, so ready for a bitter response, but he realized it and cut her off with his eyes only.
"Your gorgeous bartender in not bothering me at all, don't worry ma'am. Actually, Miss Elizabeth is such good company, you have no idea," he said and this time she couldn't stop herself but smile and blush at the same time, hearing his compliment. Somehow he was always there to get her out of trouble even though she never wanted to.
It was finally nine o'clock, and that meant Elizabeth could go to her room and sleep for a good amount of ten hours. She was craving for it.
But out of nowhere it started raining and she didn't have an umbrella with her. Perfect.
"Come, I'll send you to campus," he whispered in her ear, and it gave her goosebumps all over her body.
"Thanks, but I prefer walking in rain than you blaming me if someone sees us together in your car," she said firmly, making Daniel let out a small amused chuckle. Could she be more stubborn than this?
But when Daniel saw her going out of the bar by herself he realized she actually could. He chuckled again, running to his car to start it fast, so he could reach her before she'd be completely soaking wet.
He stopped his car on her side, opening the window to tell his student to join him. Elizabeth noticed, but stubbornly, she rolled her eyes at him.
"Get in," he told her softly but firmly. Liz wasn't the type to let men give her orders, but somehow she followed what he said and got into the passengers' side, crossing her arms on her chest, watching outside the window instead, while he started to drive again. "Is this your way of saying 'thank you'?" He asked teasingly, but she only pressed her red lips into a firm line, not agreeing to look at him. "You're so cute when you act mad, love."
This was what made her turn her head at him and give him a death look. "Stop saying love to me, you're my professor," she demanded, knowing so well that she didn't want him to stop, but of course too proud to show it.
"I still don't think it's really bothering you that much, love."
"It is."
"It is not."
"It is."
"It is not."
She let out a sigh, obviously annoyed, and Daniel couldn't help it, he grinned, enjoying the fact that he had won the argument.
The way to the campus was only five minutes long, but they got stuck in traffic for some more minutes.
They kept silent, however, both of them wondering what the other was thinking.
"Thanks," Elizabeth mumbled when they arrived in the campus as she got out of the car and started to walk fast to the dormitory.
He opened the window in his side and shouted, "Goodnight, love," not sure if she heard it or not.
But she actually did, as she tried to hide a small smile that rose on her lips.
