Eating disorders
Are simply human concepts.
No fox
Looks in the mirror and wonders
If it takes up too much space.
No sparrow looks at a worm
And asks if it'll make it gain weight.
No deer sticks its hoof down its own throat
And accepts that fate.
Eating disorders are the constraint.
Body dysmorphia is the mental state.
Some people have their eating habits straight.
But others—
It's not great.
They either eat
Too much,
Not eat at all,
Or eat and throw up.
No matter which one you are,
Whether you're fat
Or far from that,
Whether you're thin as paper
Or larger than you think you are,
None of them are friendly.
You could
Eat
And
Eat
And
Eat
And
Eat
Until you meet defeat.
Or you could
Taste nothing
But your own saliva,
And waste away
Until
You don't
Wake up one day.
And you could
Binge
And
Purge
Until
Your
Teeth
Fall
Out.
And if you do it after every meal,
Still,
It could
End in
Death.
Why do we have to think this way?
Why are we introduced to
Habits
That make us
Decay?
Habits that make it hard to walk,
That make your head ache,
That make your teeth rot.
Why does food become something to fear?
Why does a mirror become an enemy?
Why isn't it just easy to stop?
