Sissy pressed her eyes closed. She’d probably started in the wrong spot. “What?” Dave asked. “You guys have always been close.” “No,” Sissy said slowly. “That was the old me. The me from almost twenty years ago.” She sighed and turned away from the sight of her mother at a table down the sidewalk a little bit.
