Chapter Fifteen Lying in bed, watching the clock tick down to a new day, Emilia struggled with the absurdity of being too exhausted to sleep. By rights, if someone was as tired as she was, they should be out for the count the moment they crawled under the duvet. But not Emilia. Though her head ached for sleep, her thoughts refused to lie still. Her mind was like a hyperactive child in the care of a pensioner, and she felt on the verge of a meltdown.
