Chapter Eighteen Cara and Emilia arrived at Lillian’s house bang on 7pm. As it was still daylight and hot as hell, Lillian pulled down the blinds and cranked up the air con in the sitting room where she had placed three of her best corduroy bean bags in front of a widescreen TV, all within reaching distance of a long, but low coffee table offering refreshments and an assortment of intentionally, and accidentally, vegan snacks. “How can something be accidentally vegan?” Emilia asked. “The product just happens to be vegan.
