“Now it's time to transcend into Paragon city. A fantasy realm I alone know.” Kim’s head reeling from the vivid fantasy that had engulfed her all night, she ventured out into the neon-lit streets of Paragon City. She was determined to see the lavish nightlife of the city for herself, at whatever cost, as the appeal of it had grown to become an addiction.
“Oh my god. This is really astounding. Am I hallucinating?” She said, excited. The game in virtual reality had begun. Sitting next to her on the virtual reality egg chair was her mother. But it didn’t appear like they shared the same fantasy as Kim.
Her mother would get irritated when Kim would scream with excitement. That is, until she made the decision to abandon her kid in the game room. Rather, she retired to her bedroom to read a novel.
Kim kept walking through the busy pedestrian area of Paragon city, her fantasy realm. She quickly shifted her gaze between the tall skyscrapers, each appearing more opulent and intimidating than the one before it. Aside from the odd blaring of a high-performance sports car’s engine, the air was filled with the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses. Kim wanted to participate in this extravagant symphony with great fervor.
“Mom, mom, you have to see this.” Thinking that her mother was still next to her, she yelled at her. She was not aware that she had left her game room. She imagined herself and her mother entering her magical Paragon realm together. She later realized that was her quest.
Determined to immerse herself in the city’s affluent social circles, Kim clutched her phone tightly and checked the address of the motel she had reserved for the evening. She took a deep breath and started walking quickly as she made her way past the crowds of opulent individuals and night owls that filled the streets.
“It appears that these folks are wealthy. Every single one of them. She gazed upon them, absolutely slaying Prada and Gucci.” She thought to herself, mesmerized by the spectacle of the crowd she was passing through. As they carried out their business, it seemed as though they were fine with her. It was incorrect for Kim to assume that people would notice her individuality.
There are those who would say “hi.” Kim would reply with a smile and a wave of her hand.
“Does any man have feelings for me? I activated my sensual appearance.” Once more, she murmured to herself. She must have hoped that a man would find her and assist her in discovering the beauty of the city. She would go on gently, admiring the city’s splendor. It was not long before Kim realized she was lost for good.
“Relax.” As though she had misplaced something, she stopped. Glancing about her, she realized she had made reservations at a hotel when she had first set out on her search in the mythical world.
The neon-lit boulevards and tall towers appeared to blend together, and the directions on her phone were pathetically inadequate. Exasperated, she took a moment to orient herself and looked around at her surroundings.
“Where is the mob that I just went through now? I am definitely lost. Is my journey to Paragon coming to an end with this? I’m really sorry. No, not just now.” Still continuing to halt and consider her circumstances, she whispered to herself.
“All I want is to ride in a Lamborghini at the very least. Before my quest comes to a conclusion, only once.” As she started to search for the private taxi, she repeated her statement. Nobody could provide her with a solution.
At that moment, she caught sight of it: a sleek, black Lamborghini with a well-dressed person behind the wheel, the engine roaring to life. Kim’s eyes shone with a mix of desperation and resolve, and her heart pounded as she walked up to the driver.
“Pardon me,” she murmured, a little shaky in her voice. “I’m attempting to locate my motel, but I appear to be disoriented. Would you be able to assist me?”
The young man driving, who exuded confidence without seeming forced, turned to look at her and smiled knowingly. He purred, running his gaze over her with gratitude, “Of course, darling. What direction are you going?”
She reeled off the address rapidly, her fingers clenching around her phone in anticipation of his reply. Kim briefly questioned whether she had approached him correctly as the driver’s gaze narrowed.
“Oh, I see,” he murmured in a silky, quiet voice. “Actually, that is not too far away from here. Actually, I was going to go in that direction right now. Would you mind getting in, so I can give you a lift?”
“Is this something out of a dream? To be honest, all I wanted was to drive a Lamborghini. I am now going to be called in.” Even as she considered going inside, she held herself back. It was a result of incredulity. She was considering both the benefits as well as the drawbacks of taking the stranger up on his offer, her mind racing.
“It appears that you are apprehensive to enter. Please allow me to leave you.” Kim did not want to miss that opportunity, the driver remarked. Finding her lodging and integrating herself into the city’s affluent social circles was a pressing need as well. However, the very notion of entering a vehicle alongside an unfamiliar someone was enough to cause her stomach to turn.
“Oh yeah, I do. I do. Once again, what was your name?” Glancing slightly, as though she was considering her question again, she asked.
“The person is called Mr. Magnet. It is my wish that you would feel an unwavering attachment to me.” Upon learning the name Magnet, she burst into laughter.
“To what extent Magnet was magnetic,” she pondered.
“I apologize; I just find your name funny.” Observing Magnet’s behavior towards her, she spoke. The man then smiled, knowing that Kim’s address was a brothel and not a motel, but yet trying to offer the girl a glimmer of hope. He had no desire to delve into further detail about the lady’s predicament. This is because he thought highly of her.
Nevertheless, it was impossible to resist the draw of the lavishness of the metropolis. Kim nodded resolutely, and as she opened the passenger-side door and climbed into the luxurious leather seat, her heart raced in her breast.
She couldn’t help but get a rush of exhilaration as the Lamborghini roared to life and blended into the traffic. The driver handled the sleek, potent automobile with the assurance and comfort of someone who was well-versed in the city’s tortuous streets.
“At this point, the magnetic Magnet is attached to me. Really, what kind of name is that? Magnet? Hopefully, I’m not being taken advantage of like I was in the large metropolis.” As the Lamborghini drove on, she muttered a certain thing. Her eyes were fixed on the attractive view.
With a fleeting glance in Kim’s way, the driver inquired, “So, what brings you to Paragon City?”
Uncertain of how much to reveal, Kim paused. Her voice was hardly audible above a whisper as she said, “I, um, I’m here for the nightlife. I thought tonight might be my chance to experience the city’s elite social circles, something I’ve always dreamed of doing.”
With amusement in his eyes, the driver laughed. “Well, my dear, you’ve arrived to the correct location. The center of extravagance and luxury is Paragon. It will be a night you won’t soon forget.”
His words sent a shock-wave through Kim, her mind racing with all the possibilities that now lay before of her.
“Hopefully, I’ll be there when that occurs.” There was nothing more for Magnet to say when she answered with a smile. She couldn’t help but sneak peeks at the tall towers and the elegantly dressed people who appeared to be in every area of the city as the Lamborghini threaded through the traffic.
“I felt lost at the time; where were these people hiding?” Inside herself, she questioned. This is because she once had a feeling of being lost and the throng of people dispersed. She now perceives a lot of wealthy peasants passing by on a night when it seems the city doesn’t slumber, like New York.
At last the car approached a stately, elaborate structure, the exterior glistening with a plethora of neon lights and gilded details.
“This is where we are,” he declared, a note of humor permeating his voice.
“Oh my god, this isn’t the spot I reserved for myself. What will I do with this?” Seeing that she had been taken to the wrong place, she muttered to herself. She looked up at the structure, puzzled, her head twisted.
“However, this isn’t the motel I reserved,” she remarked, her tone slightly unsure. The driver’s grin continued to grow.
He murmured, “Oh, my dear, this is so much better than just a motel. Welcome to the best men’s club in Paragon City.” When Kim realized what had happened, her eyes grew wide with dread.
She exclaimed, blushing from a mix of embarrassment and disbelief, “A men’s club? I believe there has been an error. I should be at a motel, not here.” With a laugh, the driver looked over her with gratitude.
“No error, my love. The genuine elite of Paragon congregate here to indulge in all of their whims. And it appears that you are now one of them.”
Heart racing, Kim’s thoughts raced over the ramifications of the driver’s suggestion as she gazed up at the grand skyscraper. This was not at all what she had imagined when she arrived in Paragon, her fantasy realm, which was the opulent life she had only ever dreamed of.
