CHAPTER 35 Dressed only in her gown, Sara Beth dashed out the back door, grabbed the one garden hose they owned, and sprinted toward the barn, yelling at the top of her lungs, “Tab, get out! Quick!” She had no way of knowing if Layken was okay, but the fire was spreading, gobbling up the weathered dry wood like a hungry monster. Each new board crackled as the flames devoured it, sending sparks into the sky. Everything they were working so hard to save and build was turning to ash in front of her eyes.
