Chapter eight: Clayton’s POV

I left the bathroom door cracked and listened to some of my favorite songs by Bach and Beethoven. I had turned on the heating element the tub along with the jets. Oh I could stay in here forever, the jets pulverized my back. I knew I could hear them in the other bathroom if I really wanted to. But I thought the privacy was more important. Tomorrow would be perfect, I planned out my speech to the pack.

“Welcome ladies and gentlemen to ours packs first marking ceremony since my parents’. You all know how important it is that, I take a mate. It is my responsibility for our packs wellbeing, that I take a mate. I will protect you and your families while my Luna sees to it that the needs of the women and children are met. I would now like to introduce you all to my fated mate, Casey Blair Kinch. She will be our new Luna, and in time my wife. From this point forward all of you will treat her and her family with the utmost respect.”

That sounded good or maybe something similar with less words like this is my Luna and if you don’t like it I don’t care. That however, wasn’t very leader like. I had been in here for an hour or so drowning in thought. The scent of her new body wash filled my nose and calmed me. The door bell rang, so I paid the pizza guy and headed up the stairs. I knew she hadn’t eaten much since yesterday and she would need her strength for tomorrow. When I got to our room she was sleeping so peacefully I hated waking her up. But she needed to eat so I sighed as I went to the bed. I nudged her softly and she released as soft sigh.

“Come one darling,” I shook her lightly.

“Five more minutes.” She begged.

“Wake up darling,” I cooed.

“Fine,” she sighed.

“Come on darling, eat some pizza with me.” I pleaded.

She reluctantly sat up sleep still in her eyes. Those violet eyes were amazing and I could stare at them all day.

“Here, you’re gonna need your strength for tomorrow.” I smiled at her.

She nodded and crawled out of bed. She stumbled to the couch and plopped down. I had forgotten something to drink, so I called a maid to bring us some red wine. I handed her a slice and she sleepily chopped away.

“Will I be that tired after?” She asked.

“Probably, tomorrow you will feel a lot of powerful emotions.” I shrugged.

“Will it hurt?” She wondered.

“Only for a little bit I promise darling.” I soothed her.

“Have you ever marked anyone before?” She questioned.

“No, but I know the raw energy will be amazing.” I cheered.

She sighed and ate more pizza, the maid knocked on the door before entering. She poured us each a glass of sweet red wine. Before she left she set the bottle in a bucket of ice.

“I’ve never had wine,” she mused.

“I’m not surprised, but I thought it might help you sleep.” I told her.

She sipped it at first, but deciding she liked it she took a larger slug of it.

“Don’t get me drunk and take advantage of me now.” She joked.

“Nah, I wouldn’t ruin my fun for tomorrow,” I winked at her.

We chatted back and forth about what tomorrow would hold. We learned a lot about each other, it was nice to know we were both nervous. I was actually surprised that I was nervous. We drank the entire bottle before she started yawning again. She kissed me softly before heading back to bed. We had a busy day tomorrow. I stayed up a little while longer watching tv. I joined her in bed snuggling up to her. I had to be up before she was so I could be out of here and let the ladies work.
